Disney Drops New Teaser for ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Live-Action Film

As a child of the early 2000s, I can confidently say that the upcoming live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch has me more excited than a shaka-flashing surfer catching the wave of his life! The teaser trailer, with its nod to The Lion King and catchy Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride tune, is pure nostalgia gold. I remember staying up late to watch the original animated film multiple times, and seeing Stitch again brought back all those warm, fuzzy feelings. I’m particularly thrilled about the cast – Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, and Tia Carrere are fantastic choices for Lilo, Nani, and Dr. Jumba, respectively. And let’s not forget Zach Galifianakis as Stitch! The joke writer in me can’t help but imagine his Stitch saying, “Ohana means family…and also, I hate sand.” Can’t wait for May 23, 2025 to catch this wave of fun and emotion all over again!

Disney has released another teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action film Lilo & Stitch.

In a heartwarming new video that stirred up my nostalgic feelings, I found myself reminiscing about The Lion King as I watched Stitch being held aloft just like Simba in the opening scene. The caption for this charming clip reads, “Long live the…King?” The upcoming remake of the beloved animated film also includes the iconic tune “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” playing in the background. As Stitch floats above the sand, he seems to be wearing floaties and wriggles free, causing a splash on the beach before landing gently. To end the video, Stitch ambles onto the screen and greets us with a friendly “Hi.

In the premiere, both a teaser trailer and a poster were unveiled, featuring Stitch being lifted by a figure similar to Rafiki from “The Lion King”. The upcoming film’s synopsis goes: “Lilo & Stitch is an innovative live-action reinterpretation of Disney’s 2002 animated tale. It’s a humorous yet heartwarming story about a solitary Hawaiian girl and the runaway alien who helps heal her fractured family. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the filmmaker behind the Academy Award-nominated movie “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”, it stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, and introducing Maia Kealoha. Produced by Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin, with Louie Provost, Tom Peitzman, and Ryan Halprin serving as executive producers.” Take a look at the trailer above.
