As a political enthusiast with a keen interest in women’s rights and social justice, I am deeply concerned about the 2025 Presidential Transition Project, more commonly known as Project 2025. Having closely followed the conservative policies proposed by this initiative, I find it alarming that such a document could potentially be implemented if Donald Trump were to return to the White House.
Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiast! On a recent Tuesday, I got a message from the Democratic National Committee. They reached out to around 100,000 students in the Philadelphia area, inviting us all to check out “Project 2025” on good ol’ Google. Sounds like a fascinating endeavor, doesn’t it?
Prior to the upcoming Kamala Harris-Donald Trump debate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, students at Drexel University, Lafayette College, Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, and Widener University are being targeted with a youth voter campaign. This includes the installation of new campus kiosks, billboards, flyers, and mobile billboard videos. The aim is to link Trump to Project 2025, a set of conservative policy proposals often referred to as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project.
In 2023, a policy blueprint from the conservative Heritage Foundation was unveiled, detailing a set of conservative and right-wing policies. This document is marketed as a “180-day action plan” intended for execution by the next Republican president. During the Democratic National Convention in August, the Harris campaign, along with various speakers, strongly criticized this proposal. Since then, they have emphasized the 900-page plan as their primary criticism of the GOP.
On Tuesdays, I’ve been vocalizing my concerns about a proposed bill, and here’s why: This legislation could potentially infringe upon some of our basic rights. It’s alarming to consider the possibility of increased government surveillance over pregnancies, potential threats to IVF treatments, and the imposition of a nationwide ban on abortions. These are issues that deeply matter to me, and I believe they should matter to everyone who values personal freedom and choice.
Abhi Rahman, Deputy Communications Director of the DNC, stated to The Hollywood Reporter that young people in Philadelphia possess the ability to impact this election significantly. With students returning to their campuses, Democrats are ensuring they understand that the fate of their future is at stake this November. In preparation for tonight’s presidential debate, the DNC is reaching out to students on college campuses and throughout the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area to inform young voters about what they stand to lose: reproductive rights, student loan debt relief, limits on executive power, an economy that doesn’t favor only billionaires, and the future of our democracy.
Rahman stated, “The importance of this coming November is immense, and tonight, Vice President Harris will share her vision for Pennsylvania and the country – a place where basic freedoms are safeguarded and each vote matters.
The campus messaging mirrored a move by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) last weekend, which aimed at college football enthusiasts at the University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, and Penn State University. In the second week of the 2024 college football season, planes displaying university-specific banners flew overhead, funded by the DNC, urging students to “tackle Project 2025.
During my conversation with Fox & Friends following the DNC, I made it clear that I’m not connected to Project 2025. A group of folks came together, drafting a set of values they deemed conservative – extremely conservative, in fact. It’s possible they crossed some lines, or perhaps they didn’t. Frankly, I’m clueless about what Project 2025 actually entails.
Previously, Trump’s representative, Karoline Leavitt, stated to The New York Times that it’s accurate to say President Trump has consistently asserted that Project 2025 holds no connection to his political campaign.
In a historic event, Vice President Kamala Harris and the former President, Donald Trump, will square off at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia for a 90-minute debate starting at 6 p.m. Pacific Time or 9 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC. This is the first presidential debate between Harris and Trump in the 2024 election cycle, following President Biden’s withdrawal from the race on July 21 and Harris being named the Democratic party’s nominee for president.
