Documentary on Wu-Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard to Premiere Next Month

As a long-time fan of Wu-Tang Clan and Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB) in particular, I am beyond excited for the upcoming documentary, “Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirty,” premiering on A&E next month. The fact that this is the first authorized documentary on ODB’s life makes it even more intriguing.

Coming up next month on A&E, there will be a new documentary about Ol’ Dirty Bastard, a former member of Wu-Tang Clan who tragically died at 35 due to an unintentional drug overdose. The film, named A Tale of Two Dirtys: The Life of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, is the first authorized documentary dedicated to his life.

During their two-hour interview session, Sam and Jason Pollard, the father-son director team, conversed with Wu-Tang clan members Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, as well as music icon Mariah Carey and industry professionals. They also engaged in heartfelt conversations with Icelene Jones, wife of the late ODB (Old Dirty Bastard), his son Bar-Sun Jones, and his parents.

Amidst the interviews, there are previously unseen clips taken by Icelene that showcase unique glimpses into ODB’s life at home as a spouse and parent.

The documentary will trace ODB’s early life and his journey to prominence in the hip-hop world. It will delve deeper into his battles with legal issues, mental instability, substance abuse, and the pressures of fame. Raising thought-provoking questions about the role the industry played in his untimely demise.

On Sunday, August 25, the premiere of “Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys” is set to air on A&E. The episode can be streamed starting from the next day.
