Dolly Parton Dishes on a New Cookbook, the ‘9 to 5’ Remake and Beyoncé’s Country Music Awards Snub

As a gamer with a deep appreciation for music and cooking, this news about Dolly Parton and her sister, Rachel Parton George, collaborating on a cookbook titled “Good Lookin’ Cookin'” has me all a-twitter! Growing up, my mom wasn’t much of a country singer, but she sure could whip up some mean fried chicken like ol’ Dolly herself.

According to Rachel Parton George, Dolly cooks remarkably similar to our mother. This brings back memories of Mama for her.

Everyone now has the chance to imagine or recreate Parton’s mother’s cooking, as the renowned country singer and her sister have collaborated on a new recipe book titled “Good Lookin’ Cookin’“, which became available on Tuesday. Through a partnership with Home Chef, customers can arrange for delivery of certain dishes from this cookbook straight to their homes.

The sisters shared their experiences with “The Hollywood Reporter” on collaborating on their book. According to Dolly Parton, she says, “Spending so much time together in a creative setting like that, especially holed up in the kitchen, allowed us to learn more about each other as adults, and it’s something truly unique and special.

According to Parton, observing Parton George and appreciating her sincerity and talent has taught her a lot. It’s also been a bit like taking a trip down memory lane for both of them. As she puts it, “We frequently discuss our mothers, then move on to talking about our aunts, grandmothers, fathers, some of our brothers.” In essence, it’s provided an excellent chance to swap memories and family recipes.

Parton shared some insights about her potential involvement in the new version of ‘9 to 5’, which Jennifer Aniston is producing. She mentioned, “We’re having conversations regarding this with Jennifer Aniston and a few others.

She expresses her hope that at some stage, there could be a fresh take on it featuring newer, younger faces, and she doesn’t rule out participating as a producer or even appearing in it herself. She affirms that the discussions are ongoing. “I continue to believe it would be a fantastic venture,” she adds, pointing out how today’s workplaces and the technology they utilize differ significantly from what was used when they filmed the original movie back in 1980.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the renowned Jennifer Aniston is collaborating with her partner Kristin Hahn in producing a film under their Echo Films label. The award-winning writer of “Juno”, Diablo Cody, will be crafting the script for this project. Known for movies like “Jennifer’s Body” and more recently “Lisa Frankenstein”, featuring Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton, her contribution is truly exciting!

“I don’t know what will come of it, but it would be great,” Parton says of the project.

The renowned country artist expressed his thoughts on Beyoncé’s recent album titled “Cowboy Carter“, where Beyoncé covers Parton’s song “Jolene”. Surprisingly, this month saw the singer being overlooked by the Country Music Association Awards, despite releasing one of the year’s most popular country albums with “Cowboy Carter” and having top country songs like “Texas Hold ‘Em”.

Parton expressed that she “wasn’t aware that the incident had occurred,” and referred to “Cowboy Carter” as a “wonderful album.

As a devoted fan of Dolly Parton, I can’t help but feel an immense sense of pride and gratitude when I reflect on her heartfelt response about Beyoncé covering ‘Jolene’. In her own words, “I felt deeply honored that she had selected my song.” She further explained, highlighting the beauty of artistic expression, “As a songwriter, it’s always captivating to witness how others breathe life into your music.” And indeed, I was thrilled to see how proud she was.
