Currently, Farhan Akhtar is eagerly anticipating the unveiling of his upcoming projects, such as Dabba Cartel and Superboys of Malegaon, in which he plays multiple roles as a producer, director, and actor. There have been whispers about potential delays in his directorial project Don 3, featuring Ranveer Singh, but these have been dispelled with a recent significant announcement regarding the much-anticipated film.
During a conversation with India Today, Farhan Akhtar discussed Don 3, clarifying that there was no attempt to evade inquiries about the film. He confirmed that the production of Don 3 commenced this year, while 120 Bahadur is slated for release by the end of the year.
During our chat, he was also inquired about the progress of his movie “Jee Le Zaraa”, a road-trip film featuring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif. To this, he candidly replied, “There are quite a few schedules to align. I guess we’ll discuss that later.
In 2023, I was thrilled to learn from Farhan Akhtar himself about the upcoming third installment of his Don series. It was exciting news indeed! He further revealed that the charismatic Ranveer Singh will be stepping into the lead role, taking over from the legendary Shah Rukh Khan. Additionally, the beautiful Kiara Advani has joined the cast for this action-packed thriller. To make things even more intriguing, reports suggest that Vikrant Massey has been brought on board to play the villain. I can hardly wait!
As a lifestyle expert, I must share that the anticipation for this highly-awaited movie, Don 3, initially pointed towards production starting in August–September 2024. However, it seems that things didn’t unfold as expected, leading to whispers and speculations within the industry that perhaps the project had been temporarily shelved.
Last year, Hindustan Times reported that a spokesperson from the production company had confirmed that Don 3 was proceeding as planned. According to sources close to Ranveer Singh and the producers, there are no plans to delay the film’s release. Any rumors of a postponement are false, as stated by an official representative from Farhan’s team.
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar is eagerly anticipating the debuts of two projects: the web series Dabba Cartel, which he produced, and the movie Superboys of Malegaon. These projects are scheduled to come out on February 28, 2025. The film will hit theaters, while the series starring Shabana Azmi will be available for streaming on Netflix.
Farhan will next be seen in the biographical drama 120 Bahadur.
