Attention! This article may contain SPOILERS for the first season of “The Pitt.” In the series, Dr. Collins (Tracy Ifeachor) revealed at some point before the events of season 1 that she was pregnant, but the identity of the father remained undisclosed. Several key questions about the characters in PTMC were left unanswered by the end of season 1, such as what will happen to Dr. McKay’s (Fiona Dourif) ankle monitor and the aftermath of the fight between Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) and Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball). Due to the real-time format of “The Pitt,” many of these stories couldn’t be fully resolved within a 15-hour shift.
I’m thrilled to share that my favorite show, The Pitt, is coming back for a second season! This means we’ll finally get some answers to those lingering questions, as several characters are set to reappear in the upcoming season of The Pitt. Although I’m excited about the new revelations, Dr. Collins’ backstory remains the most intriguing mystery for me and many other viewers. We’ve only been given subtle clues about her romantic involvement with Robby and her past pregnancies. However, by carefully examining the hints dropped in The Pitt, we can make educated guesses about who the father of her unborn child might be.
Dr. Collins Got Pregnant Through IVF Before She Suffered A Miscarriage In The Pitt
Collins Wanted To Try For A Baby Without Being In A Relationship, But She Suffered A Miscarriage
In the series The Pitt, it’s known that Collins had two pregnancies, but only one was ongoing during the first season. To clarify, at the beginning of The Pitt, Collins informed Dana (Katherine LaNasa) that she was pregnant, and it was later disclosed that this pregnancy resulted from in vitro fertilization. Since she opted for IVF, the father of her baby at the start of her shift was an anonymous sperm donor. Regrettably, Collins experienced a miscarriage halfway through her shift, causing her to lose the child. This event was particularly poignant during The Pitt’s first season, especially given her initial enthusiasm for purchasing a stroller.
Collins Reveals That She Got Pregnant When Dating Dr. Robby But Had An Abortion
Collins Explained That She Wasn’t Ready For A Child But Didn’t Tell Robby About It At The Time
In the eleventh episode of “The Pitt,” following her emotional ordeal from a miscarriage, Collins found herself in a difficult situation. She confided in Robby about the pregnancy she had previously lost, and during this conversation, she disclosed another past pregnancy. As it turned out, Collins had conceived while in a previous relationship, but wasn’t prepared to be a mother at that time. As a result, she opted for an abortion. Although not explicitly stated, the show “The Pitt” strongly suggested – almost confirmed – that Robby might have been the father of this past pregnancy.
During season 1 of “The Pitt“, Collins was a rather private individual who preferred solitude. She revealed her miscarriage to Robby solely to put an end to his concerns and inquiries about her well-being. Given this, it’s plausible that Collins might not have disclosed her past abortion to Robby if he weren’t the father. In the ambulance, they were already discussing their past relationship and her fertility issues. It seems likely that Collins felt at ease enough with Robby to share her decision regarding the abortion and gauge his reaction to it without having informed him earlier.
Robby’s Reaction To Collins’ Past Pregnancy Reveal In The Pitt Explained
Robby Read Between The Lines & Offered Support For Collins’ Choice To Have An Abortion
A strong indication suggesting Robby as Collins’ former unborn child’s father was evident in his response. Upon learning about Collins’ abortion, Robby initially seemed dazed as he processed the news. Notably, Robby expressed his stance on supporting Collins’ autonomy over her own body decisions. Although neither explicitly stated it, the sense of relief that washed over Collins when Robby assured her that the father would forgive her hinted at their mutual understanding that Robby was the one being discussed.
In “The Pitt” season 2, Robby’s response to Collins’ abortion situation could potentially indicate a promising future for their romantic prospects. It’s unclear what led to their initial separation, but it’s evident that there remains some deep-seated feelings between them. Their dialogue in the ambulance was one of many instances where Robby demonstrated empathy and maturity, which were unusual as Collins shared her emotions. Since their early days dating within “The Pitt”, both characters have evolved significantly, and they might have matured enough to reconsider a relationship in season 2.
