Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D: How to Revive Allies

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating the vast landscapes of Dragon Quest and other role-playing games, I can’t help but appreciate the intricacies of the revival system in the Dragon Quest 3 Remake. Having experienced the heart-wrenching moments when my beloved party members succumbed to a ferocious foe, I’ve come to rely on various methods to resurrect them and keep my team intact.

Battles in the Dragon Quest 3 Remake can be tough, and keeping your team alive is crucial for overcoming the game’s obstacles.

When one of your allies gets defeated in battle, this is the time when strategies for resuscitation become crucial.

This article explains how to revive fallen allies in Dragon Quest 3 Remake.

How To Revive Allies

Death in Dragon Quest 3 Remake might trip you up, but it’s nothing you can’t get past.

When a character’s Health Points (HP) reach zero, they are considered to have perished, and this condition persists even after the battle is over.

Inactive allies, who have been defeated, cannot join fights nor earn experience points until they are brought back to life. This could slow down your advancement and make your team vulnerable.

Quickly reviving your teammates and helping them regain their strength keeps the pace going and ensures continuity.

Revitalizing fallen allies by paying a visit to churches in various towns and villages appears to be the most dependable method.

Look for the trident-like symbol on the map to find these establishments.

In towns that don’t have a stationary place of worship, locate a traveling clergy member who can carry out the required rituals and ceremonies as needed.

To bring back a fallen comrade, consult the cleric and pick the ‘Resurrect’ choice. This approach guarantees a positive outcome, but it comes with a price to pay.

A character’s level and occupation impact the cost for revival, implying that it costs more to bring back higher-level characters.

Besides using the traditional save points, you could opt for churches as alternative locations to save your game progress. This makes churches convenient spots to strategize your respawn position.

Maintain some Chimera Wings on hand for emergencies, allowing you to teleport to a nearby town swiftly and resurrect when needed.

For individuals who enjoy working independently, professions such as Priests and Sages possess the ability to learn spells that revive fallen comrades, bypassing the requirement of a religious institution.

As your character advances through levels, they will unlock these spells. One of the earliest spells is called Zing (or Zin), which offers a chance to resurrect an ally with only 1 Health Point remaining.

But it doesn’t always pan out, especially in battles where every turn counts.

In due time, you will access Kazing, a sophisticated resurrection charm that can restore your fallen comrade with either half or complete vitality.

Even though Kazing uses up more MP, it is a much more reliable choice for restoring allies during intense battles.

Outside of battle, you can repeatedly cast Zing until it works.

You can then rest at an inn to regain your MP, which can save gold compared to paying church fees.

An alternative approach could be utilizing the “Yggdrasil Leaves,” potent artifacts capable of instantly restoring an ally who has fallen, fully replenishing both their Health Points (HP) and Magic Points (MP).

These things carry great importance as they become essential when needed, since they are rare and unavailable for purchase at regular retail outlets.

Typically, you’ll come across Yggdrasil Leaves in hidden treasures or as loot from certain opponents. Therefore, it’s advisable to use them judiciously.

In extended fights where other methods could potentially fail or not be accessible, these options prove especially beneficial due to their instant and reliable rejuvenation effect.

If everyone in your group is defeated, the game concludes, requiring you to resume play at your most recent saved position.

Instead, the Dracky Quest difficulty mode ensures that your character’s Health Points (HP) are always set at 1, meaning that they cannot die in this mode. Therefore, there’s no need for concern about character revivals.

So, you may consider playing on Dracky Quest mode if you prefer a less punishing experience.

Plan ahead and manage your resources efficiently to get the best out of these revival options.
