As a seasoned adventurer with more than a few scars to prove it, I can confidently say that gathering the Orbs was quite the journey! From battling fiery beasts in the volcano to outwitting cunning merchants, each step of this quest brought new challenges and memories to last a lifetime.
In the course of your Dragon Quest 3 Remake adventure, keep an eye out for six distinct Orbs. These ancient relics hold the power to resurrect Ramia, the mythical phoenix.
After waking up, Ramia gives you the ability to fly across the vast landscape and reach areas that would normally be out of reach. This guide will help you locate all six Orbs necessary to resurrect Ramia.
Where To Find All the Orbs
Orbs can be discovered throughout the terrain, often hidden within dungeons, guarded by formidable adversaries, or connected to pivotal plot developments.
The Echo Flute is a must-have for easier orb hunting. This magical item helps pinpoint the location of the six Orbs.
It emits a sound whenever one is nearby, removing much of the guesswork from your exploration.
Here’s where you can find each one:
Green Orb
The Green Orb is locate-able in Theddon, a town that vibrantly pulses with life after dark yet retains an eerie quietness throughout the daytime.
As an enthusiast, I can’t wait to get my hands on the Ultimate Key! Throughout the day, I plan to delve into the prison, taking time to learn its intricate layout and hidden corners. It’s all part of the thrill!
Come back when night falls to release the prisoner and prepare for a tough encounter.
Indoors, you’ll encounter numerous Waning Flames and Specters. They have the ability to summon reinforcements, making battles prolonged affairs.
Keep your party’s health up, and use Magic Barrier to lessen enemy spell damage.
Once the enemies are defeated, the prisoner will hand the Green Orb over to you for your efforts.
Blue Orb
The Blue Orb can be obtained by completing a solo trial at Gaia’s Naval, reached via Lanson.
Talk to a priest in northern Lanson, and they’ll lead you to the trial.
As a dedicated fan, I’d recommend outfitting my Hero with restorative gear for health recovery, powerful single-target weaponry, and accessories that offer protection against debilitating status conditions.
Progressing forward, you’ll encounter less formidable enemies. However, the final challenge awaits you – the formidable duo of Chiromancer and Mad Vlad.
A strategic approach would be to eliminate Mad Vlad initially, as this disrupts Chiromancer’s rhythm, causing him to squander his turns attempting to revive his ally.
Mix offensive spells like Zapple and defensive skills like Meditation to stay balanced.
After the fight concludes, retrieve the Blue Orb from the storeroom filled with riches and collect any additional treasures before departing.
Purple Orb
To obtain the Purple Orb, head to Jipang, where the town is tormented by the dragon Orochi.
The story unfolds as you learn about the town’s grim tradition of sacrificing women to the beast.
As an enthusiast, I’d recommend starting your exploration by seeking out Yayoi, our current offering, hidden within a woven container, nestled deep within the town’s northwestern cellar.
She’ll guide you towards the cave of Orochi, found to the east. Following his initial defeat, Orochi withdraws to the central hall within Jipang.
Take advantage of the current moment to rejuvenate your group. You can do this by employing some enchantments, or perhaps seeking refuge in an inn, prior to confronting Orochi once more.
In the second round, Orochi becomes noticeably more hostile. To strengthen your defenses, consider using abilities such as Kabuff, Kasap, and Insulate.
Beat Orochi once and for all, and you’ll receive the Purple Orb.
Red Orb
The Red Orb is among the easiest to find.
From Aliahan, head towards the Pirate’s Den, keeping an eye out for a radiant statue. Push or move this statue to uncover a concealed stairway which descends into a clandestine location.
Descend the staircase to gather the prizes, among them the Red Orb. This artifact offers a straightforward acquisition without any combats or significant challenges in your journey.
Yellow Orb
As an enthusiastic follower, I’m being called upon by the radiant Sphere to contribute towards establishing a fresh community, originally dubbed as an unnamed outpost lying to the east of Persistence.
Hire a Merchant and settle them in the town to get its growth going.
Creating a new Merchant for this task is best to avoid losing a valuable party member.
Drop by the town occasionally, as the game will provide hints when it’s time to return.
Eventually, the townsfolk will imprison the Merchant for mismanagement and greed.
Pay a visit to the imprisoned merchant, who will provide a hint regarding a concealed treasure located behind the throne within his manor.
Search the throne to locate the Yellow Orb.
Silver Orb
The Silver Orb is hidden within the Necrogrond Shrine, but remember that you’ll need to accomplish a sequence of challenges first to access it.
First, sail south of Ashem to the volcano and toss the Mountain Cleaver into its core.
This causes a volcano to explode, leaving behind a solidified lava path towards the Mouth of the Necrogrond.
The dungeon is teeming with strong enemies, some of which can paralyze your team and unleash powerful spells like Thwack.
Here you’ll encounter numerous Liquid Metal Slimes, fantastic for leveling up! Employ skills such as Falcon Slash or Critical Claim to conquer them.
After completing the dungeon, go to the shrine east of Necrogrond to retrieve the Silver Orb.
As a fervent admirer, once I’ve collected all six radiant Orbs, I’ll navigate my way to the tranquil Shrine of the Everbird nestled on an icy island situated in the south of the map.
Put the Orbs on the pedestal to revive Ramia and soar through the skies.
