2000s shows such as “Drake & Josh” and “The Amanda Show,” which were popular on Nickelodeon, remain entertaining even today. However, not every child from this generation seems to fully grasp the charm of these classic shows… at least, not yet. Drake Bell’s son, for instance, doesn’t quite get it yet, as suggested by comments made by the actor regarding watching his old work with his kid. In essence, what Bell described was a heartwarming and humorous experience.
As a dedicated film enthusiast, I find myself reflecting back to 2021 when Drake Bell, the former child star, announced the arrival of his son with his then-spouse, Janet Von Schmeling. It appears that this talented actor and musician has been making some time to introduce his little one to a glimpse of his past work. In conversation with People, he shared that his three-year-old boy has been watching his portrayal of Timmy Turner in the live-action Fairly Oddparents movies. This exposure, however, has led to a bit of puzzlement for the young one, as the lines between reality and fiction seem to blur.
He’s watching him, and he seems to think that his father is heading to the North Pole to meet Santa. He even asked, “Dada, why do they keep calling you Timmy?” It’s quite amusing to see his confusion.
Oh, it’s adorably indescribable! I can’t help but be charmed by the thought that Drake Bell’s son believes his father’s television performances are genuine. Makes me ponder if that implies he might ask Santa for some exceptional gifts this Christmas, considering who his dad knows!

D&J is well-known for its timeless quality and portraying one of the most memorable bromances on television. Although it offers lots of physical comedy and clever dialogue, I can see why it might not appeal to a three-year-old’s taste.

As a movie lover, when I’m at Disneyland or similar spots where folks are snapping photos left and right, it doesn’t quite hit me yet. He’s still too tiny for the moment to truly sink in.
It’s not unexpected for a child so young not to care about fame since, at his age, I would have been far more amazed by someone in the Barney the Dinosaur costume than any famous human. However, considering Drake Bell’s son is still quite small, I hope that when he grows up, he will appreciate it more and find joy in those classic Nickelodeon shows we used to love.
