Dries Van Noten Names Julian Klausner as Creative Director

As a seasoned fashion enthusiast with a keen eye for emerging talent, I am absolutely thrilled about Julian Klausner’s appointment as the new creative director at Dries Van Noten. Having climbed the ranks within the brand over the past six years, his promotion is not only well-deserved but also a testament to the power of nurturing in-house talent.

On an early Monday, Dries Van Noten announced on Instagram that Julian Klausner, a long-standing team member, will now serve as the brand’s creative director. This news comes after the founder, Dries Van Noten, stepped down in June 2024.

As a passionate gamer stepping into a new role, I can hardly contain my excitement to guide this game through its upcoming seasons as we embark on the next chapter together. The extraordinary impact that Dries has left on this gaming world is nothing short of monumental, providing an endless supply of precious inspiration for all who follow in his footsteps. I eagerly anticipate taking on fresh, ambitious challenges while respecting and preserving the cherished heritage that we all hold dear.

For the past six years, Klausner has been a dedicated collaborator with Dries Van Noten, working together to create women’s fashion lines at the Puig-owned fashion house. Born from a new generation of designers, Klausner is a 2016 graduate from La Cambre, the Belgian academy for arts and fashion. Prior to joining Dries Van Noten as a junior designer in 2016, he completed internships at notable labels such as Thom Browne, Kenzo, and Maison Margiela. As reported by WWD, Klausner will showcase his first women’s collection as the creative director on March 5 during Paris Fashion Week, followed by a FW25 menswear collection lookbook reveal.

The choice of the brand to hire a youthful in-house designer as their creative director is seen as an innovative step, contrasting with the ‘musical chairs’ game being played by other luxury brands, where they swap creative directors frequently.

Stay tuned for updates on Klausner’s forthcoming collections for Dries Van Noten.
