Set your alarm clocks: the newest series of Drive to Survive is arriving March 7.
Excitedly counting down the days, I can’t help but share the news that in exactly a month from now, Netflix will be releasing the seventh season of their captivating Formula 1 documentary series! This show offers an unparalleled glimpse into the action-packed world of F1, placing us right alongside the sport’s most celebrated figures as they prepare for the 2025 season launch.
“New season, fresh rivalries,” Netflix‘s X account said in the post.
Ever since its debut in 2019, “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” has garnered widespread praise from critics, with many attributing the influx of hundreds of thousands of new Formula 1 fans to the show’s influence. This series focuses on the 10 teams vying for the Constructor’s Championship and the 20 drivers, such as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris, who are all competing for the driver’s award.

Over the past few years, Red Bull has been unrivaled, awarding Max Verstappen four consecutive World Drivers’ Championships. However, the dynamics changed towards the end of last season as Lando Norris and the McLaren team made a strong comeback, creating tension. Despite this, Verstappen managed to secure the Drivers’ title, but it was McLaren who claimed victory in the Constructors’ Championship.
Next season is expected to highlight Leclerc’s victory at his home race in Monaco, Norris’ stumble in the fight for the World Drivers’ Championship (WDC), and Carlos Sainz’s quest for a Formula One seat following Hamilton’s unexpected shift to Ferrari.
In February 2024, it was found that approximately 2.9 million individuals tuned into Netflix to watch the sixth season within the initial three days of its release.
Netflix has aimed to duplicate the success of “Drive to Survive” by producing sports series such as “Full Swing” and “Break Point,” in a similar vein.
