The Daily Show and correspondent Dulcé Sloan have parted ways.
After spending seven rewarding years on Comedy Central’s late-night show as a correspondent, contributor, and occasional host, I’ve decided it’s time for me to move on. It was a mutual decision, as my contract had come to an end, and I’m eagerly exploring new opportunities. Interestingly, I’ve also chosen to make the move from New York, where The Daily Show is produced, to Los Angeles, opening up fresh chapters in my career.
Sloan has expressed pride in the projects he’s completed over the last seven years at The Daily Show, which he shared on Instagram. He worked alongside some incredibly gifted individuals and is excited about future collaborations. Now, he’s ready to chase his dream role as a live-action Klingon on Star Trek.”
This version maintains the original sentiment while using simpler, more conversational language.
A representative from “The Daily Show” commented, “Dulcé Sloan is an extraordinary comedic powerhouse whom we’ve been fortunate to have for a humorous seven-year stint on our show. We wish her continued success and can’t wait to see what her future holds.
Sloan began working on “The Daily Show” in 2017, which was two years into Trevor Noah’s tenure as host. She occasionally filled in as host following Noah’s exit at the end of 2022 and after Jon Stewart’s weekly return as anchor, with the correspondents handling the other three shows every week.
Starting this spring, Sloan will embark on a comedy tour, while also lending his voice to the Fox animated show titled “The Great North“.
Regarding “The Daily Show”, Stewart has prolonged his contract past its initial expiration date following the 2024 election, allowing him to maintain his hosting role until 2025 and also serve as an executive producer. Meanwhile, Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, and Desi Lydic will keep rotating as hosts for the Tuesday-Thursday editions on a weekly basis.
Deadline first reported Sloan’s departure.
