- Dungeon and Fighter’s new spin-off open-world RPG has been given an official title
- Dungeon & Fighter: Arad doesn’t yet have an official release date, but will be coming to mobile
- The announcement comes as part of Nexon’s upcoming media showcase
As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the announcement of Dungeon & Fighter: Arad has piqued my interest. Having grown up playing the original Dungeon & Fighter back in the day, it’s heartening to see the franchise evolving and expanding into new territories.
Enthusiasts of the game Dungeon & Fighter who’ve been eagerly awaiting updates on its upcoming open-world RPG spin-off can relax, albeit with some reservation as we don’t have much new information yet. However, what we do have is an announced title and a confirmation that it will be available on both mobile devices and consoles. The new title for the game, Dungeon & Fighter: Arad, was also revealed in a short teaser trailer.
The news about the upcoming games, including Arc Raiders, originates from Nexon’s planned media campaign for their latest releases. During G-STAR 2024, one of South Korea’s major gaming events, Nexon unveiled a new teaser trailer together with the title announcement.
For those who might not be aware, Dungeon & Fighter is one of Nexon’s major franchises that has been around since the early 2000s, contributing significantly to their success. More recently, it’s been adapted for mobile devices, with a version developed by Tencent specifically for the Chinese market (and later Korea), which was launched last year.
See that mountain? You can climb it
Although there isn’t much information available about Arad, it seems plausible that I could make a number of educated assumptions. It appears likely that Arad might resemble games like Genshin Impact or other titles from the studio MiHoYo, as their releases have established a distinctive standard for open-world games on mobile devices. As for when we can expect its release? Well, it’s safe to say that we should stay tuned, but it’s unlikely to be this year.
