Ed Sheeran Teases New Single “Azizam,” First New Album Since 2023

Ed Sheeran has made a return! Following almost two years since his seventh album, “Autumn Variations,” the British artist shared a sneak peek of his forthcoming single titled “Azizam,” which is set to be the lead track on his upcoming eighth studio album.

Sheeran posted on Instagram that his album is finished and a new single will be coming soon, with him dancing to the song alongside producer Ilya Salmanzadeh. He didn’t specify when the single or album would be released, but his enthusiasm was clear.

Since the year 2023, Ed Sheeran hasn’t published a new album. Prior to his release of “Autumn Variations,” which ranked fourth on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart, he also dropped “(Subtract),” marking the end of his series of mathematically themed albums, including “+,” “X,” “÷,” and “=”. Towards the end of last year, Sheeran shared the song “Under the Tree” for the Netflix Christmas film titled “That Christmas“.

I’m excitedly following Azizam as Ed Sheeran embarks on his Mathematics Tour, which has been going strong for years now! In 2025 alone, he’s graced stages in Bhutan, India, and China. After a short hiatus since March 2nd, he’ll be back on stage starting April 30th in Qatar. The tour will eventually conclude later this year, with a final leg that will see him perform across much of Europe before wrapping up in Düsseldorf on Sept 7th.

Sheeran penned on Instagram that it was time to pause, as he declared the last Mathematics concerts of the summer. “However, soon enough, we’ll be able to hit ‘Play’ again.
