Edward Enninful is making moves.
A year after leaving his position as editor-in-chief at British Vogue, fashion industry insider Edward Enninful has joined forces with his sister, Akua Enninful, to establish a global media and entertainment company called EE72. This venture aims to create and distribute transformative content, unique experiences, and innovative products in collaboration with forward-thinking creators and pioneering businesses. Edward will take on the roles of co-founder and chief creative officer, while Akua will serve as co-founder and CEO.
EE72 symbolizes the logical next step in the professional path I’ve established,” Enninful stated. “We aim to establish an environment where creativity knows no limits, where various perspectives not only exist but dominate. Our goal is to redefine our perception and comprehension of each other, constructing connections across cultures and communities.
He added additional details about the launch in an Instagram Reel posted on Monday.
He shared that he had always believed in the transformative potential of storytelling as he embarked on his career. He referenced his past accomplishments, including contributions to publications like i-D, Italian Vogue, Japanese Vogue, American Vogue, W, and British Vogue. Now, with EE72, he’s refining this vision further. His goal is to create a platform that fosters connections among people through creativity. Given the current state of division in our world, he believes this is the perfect moment for such a platform. It’s his hope that we can all unite, collaborate, and innovate together, paving the way for a new path forward. Through EE72, they aim to generate content and experiences that bring people closer together.
He didn’t go into detail about the specific types of content and experiences, but hinted that further insights will be revealed in the near future with his statement, “This is merely the start.
Edward Enninful began gaining recognition as a prodigy in the fashion world when he entered publishing as the fashion director for the magazine i-D at 18, a position he held for nearly two decades. His career also includes time spent as a contributing fashion editor at Vogue Italia and Vogue, and as the creative fashion director at W. Enninful served as editor of British Vogue from 2017 until his final issue, which was the highly-anticipated March 2024 issue that hit newsstands in February 2024. In addition to this role, he served as global creative and cultural advisor for Vogue under Anna Wintour.
