Director Prakash Jha recently disclosed his thoughts behind casting Aaditi Pohankar as Pammi in Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 – Part 2. He initially had doubts about her suitability due to a perceived lack of muscular build for the part, but during her audition he recognized potential that wasn’t fully apparent to him at first. He admitted, “The first day on set was tough because she was too slim for the role.”
As an ardent admirer putting thoughts into words, I’d confess: During her initial auditions for the role, I, Prakash Jha, harbored doubts about Aaditi Pohankar’s suitability. You see, in our series, Pammi is a wrestler, a character that required a more muscular physique than what Aaditi presented at the time. But as the story unfolded, her talent and dedication shone through, making me believe she was the perfect choice for bringing Pammi to life on screen.
During her audition, Prakash Jha spotted talent in Pohankar, but wasn’t fully certain if she was the ideal choice for the part. On the first day of filming, he found it particularly tough because Pohankar seemed too slim to portray Pammi, a wrestler character.
Although she promised she’d put on more weight, she came back after a month, having gained just 750 grams. Jha felt he needed to be strict with her, emphasizing that if she failed to meet the necessary physical standards for the role, he would have no other option but to reconsider the casting.
With a strong determination to excel, Aaditi steadily built up the required weight and eventually gave a spectacular performance that left everyone in awe. As predicted by my initial impression during the audition, she truly shone once filming began. Jha agreed with this assessment.
The popular online show, starring Bobby Deol in the mysterious role of Baba Nirala, has mesmerized viewers through its thrilling plot and exceptional acting.
Apart from praising Bobby, Prakash also acknowledged his incredible transformation into Baba Nirala. He mentioned that he’d always believed in Bobby’s acting abilities, even during tough times in his career. He further explained that he sought an actor with a familiar and trusted face for the role, and Bobby was just the right fit.
Jha gave high praise to the actor’s commitment, recognizing his incredible effort in breathing life into the character. Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 is geared up for release on February 26, 2025, exclusively on MX Player. The series features Tridha Choudhury, Darshan Kumaar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Sachin Shroff, Anurita Jha, and Rajeev Siddhartha among its talented cast.
