As a game enthusiast diving into Elden Ring Nightreign, let me walk you through our discussion on the Mountaintop. You’ll run across this place pretty early in your adventure, and luckily for us, it’s one of the less challenging areas to conquer!
This guide contains all the essential information regarding the Earth Shift occurrence. Continue reading to discover the steps to conquer the Mountaintop in Elden Ring: Nightreign, along with the prizes you’ll be awarded upon completion.
How to Unlock Shifting Earth: Mountaintop

In Elden Ring Nightreign, players gain access to the Mountaintop Shifting Earth Event following their defeat of the third Nightlord. Upon subduing the third Nightlord, a message about the newly available Shifting Earth event will be displayed on your screen.
Once you reach the summit and secure the Mountaintop, it gets added to the random loot pool for upcoming adventures, implying that on subsequent journeys, you might find yourself with either the Mountaintop or the Crater as rewards.
After activating both the Scarlet Woods and Citadel Shifting Earth occurrences, these events will now appear randomly as well.
As an adventurer, I always remind myself that when I don’t wish to encounter Shifting Earth events during my journey, I can find solace and safety in the Roundtable Hold by resting in its comfortable bed.
How to Complete the Mountaintop

In Elden Ring Nightreign, players must ascend the mountain peak and uncover its hidden truth. Fortunately, climbing up instead of down the crater is less perilous as you can’t plummet to your doom.
Finding the secret on the mountain peak is simply a matter of following the red marker on your map, as it indicates the summit where the secret lies.
However, reaching the peak isn’t just a straight climb up the mountain. Players should search for the large chain which will guide them to the right location.

The massive link spans across the mountain, joining its right and left flanks. On the left side lies the mystery that will unravel the solution for reaching the summit.
In the image provided, the red dot represents your final destination, while the red line indicates the location of the chain that guides you towards that spot.

Following the red arrow, I’d suggest heading northwards, keeping on course until you spot another marker. That chain will guide you towards the enigmatic secret that lies atop the mountain peak.
If you’re finding it difficult to locate the chains due to their impressive size, don’t worry! To find them more easily, look for Spirit Springs and climbable stone walls that can help you ascend to higher ground. Keep in mind that these chains will take you all the way to the peak of the mountain, so they’re located quite high up.
At the summit of the mountain, you’ll find a distinctive rock formation adorned with shimmering blue crystals. In the heart of these blue crystals lies a smaller crystal that has a golden tint. Engage with this golden-tinged crystal to obtain a Power and finish your Mountaintop journey.
Mountaintop Rewards

Following their conquest of the Mountain Peak, players will be rewarded with the “Mountain’s Grace” Power, which reduces incoming frostbite damage by half and slows frost accumulation. This power additionally amplifies nearby frostbite-induced attacks. Furthermore, players will receive the “Peak Conqueror” trophy.
On the Mountain Peak, wielding its favor is an excellent asset for battling the bosses, given that many of them inflict frostbite damage. It’s advisable to acquire this power at the start of day two, allowing ample time for you to utilize it while farming the Mountain Peak.
In addition, this ability proves quite beneficial during battles against Caligo, the Night’s Shroud. You can anticipate inflicting significant harm, receiving reduced damage, and finding the encounter generally less challenging overall.
