Elizabeth Olsen Is “Happy” to Return to Marvel, But Only “If There’s a Good Way to Use” Scarlet Witch

As a gamer with a deep-rooted affection for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I find myself eagerly awaiting any news about Elizabeth Olsen‘s potential return as Scarlet Witch. Having followed her journey since 2015, it’s fascinating to see how she has evolved from an intriguing character to a complex and captivating one.

Elizabeth Olsen remains receptive to slipping back into her superhero outfit and continuing her journey within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Elsa/Miss Marvel has been playing Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, within the Marvel universe since 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. This includes her starring role in the TV series, “WandaVision”, which premiered in 2021. Her latest portrayal as the superhero was in the 2022 film, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.

I always enjoy revisiting this character when given a good opportunity, and I feel fortunate that I was utilized effectively during ‘Age of Ultron’ at the start,” Olsen stated in a recent interview with Dublin radio station FM104. “However, for a brief moment, it seemed people weren’t sure how to make use of me.

Initially, they hadn’t found the right approach to use the character effectively. But later, they managed to capitalize on the character in intriguing ways when telling stories, notably with WandaVision, earning her an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie.

Olsen conceded, ‘If there’s a useful method for me to return, I’d be more than willing. Just ensure it makes sense.’

The actress who played a pivotal role in “Love & Death” has earlier expressed her desire to delve into characters beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), seeking fulfillment through diversity.

I don’t prefer to be limited to one character, but I believe it’s crucial for me to diversify my roles for a balanced career,” Olsen said to The Times of London in September 2023. “I’m eager to work on different films now, and I hope they will complement each other as I envision. Yes, I crave more diversity in my characters. There’s no sustainability in sticking to one role.
