Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, Carrie Coon Assist Ailing Dad in Netflix’s ‘His Three Daughters’ Trailer

As a dedicated fan of thought-provoking and emotionally resonant cinema, I am truly excited about the upcoming release of “His Three Daughters.” The trailer alone has piqued my interest with its raw portrayal of complex familial relationships and the powerful performances of Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Carrie Coon.

In the trailer for “His Three Daughters” on Netflix, Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Carrie Coon explore the complexities of their strained connections.

Azazel Jacobs’ movie, where he both writes and directs, will be released in certain cinemas on September 6, and will start streaming from September 24. The film made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. Olsen, Lyonne, and Coon play the roles of the sisters who have grown apart. They come together in a Manhattan apartment to take care of their sick father and work on mending their strained relationships with one another.

“It’s wonderful that it’s just the three of us,” Olsen says to his sisters, “This is how it’s meant to be – the way he would have preferred it.”

Later, when requested to assist in penning down her father’s obituary, Lyonne humorously remarked, “Married a few women with unconventional personalities, brought up a brood of similarly unique individuals.”

Completing the ensemble are actors Jovan Adepo, Jay O. Sanders, Rudy Galvan, Jose Febus, and Jasmine Bracey. Produced by Jacobs, Matt Aselton, Lia Buman, Tim Headington, Diaz Jacobs, Marc Marrie, Duncan Montgomery, Alex Orlovsky, Jack Selby, and Mal Ward. Lyonne and Maya Rudolph also serve as executive producers.

In a critique for The Hollywood Reporter, senior reviews editor Jon Frosch expressed that filmmaker Azazel Jacobs delivers a fulfilling return to New York with “His Three Daughters.” This poignant and insightful story explores the complex bonds of sisterhood amidst adversity.

Frosch went on, “This production boasts three outstanding performances by Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne. Each actress skillfully balances playing to the expected roles while also bringing unexpected twists. It’s been the strongest work from the writer-director since his 2008 film, ‘Momma’s Man,’ which brought him indie recognition.”
