As an ardent admirer of Elliot Page, I’m thrilled to share that Elliot’s production company, Pageboy Productions, is teaming up with the mighty Canadian media titan, Bell Media, to create and bring to life unique, scripted TV series. This collaboration promises some exciting content ahead!
This non-exclusive collaboration agreement will result in TV series being developed and subsequently acquired by Bell Media’s primary television channel, CTV, and its streaming platform Crave. Page, who was born in Canada, established Pageboy in 2021, with some of its productions featuring the actor Page himself, such as Close to You, and the Toronto Film Festival entry Backspot.
Collaborating with Bell Media seems like the next logical step for Pageboy Productions. We’re thrilled about producing compelling content that gives prominence to voices that matter. This partnership will enable us to craft authentic narratives that provoke thought, and captivate audiences not just locally but globally,” Page expressed in a statement.
Acting as an advocate, the Umbrella Academy star employed their 2024 Junos Awards appearance in Canada – known for music awards – to express disapproval towards the reversal of LGBTQ2+ rights, following Page’s public announcement of being transgender and nonbinary at the end of 2020. In a declaration from the production company, it was revealed that their main focus is on narrative-telling that emphasizes safety, representation, and intersectional fairness across all aspects of film and television production.
Sean Cohan, head of Bell Media, commented in his own words: “Pageboy Productions possesses a rich background and offers a distinct point of view when it comes to content production. This agreement symbolizes our mutual dedication to nurturing Canadian creativity, presenting diverse narratives, and delivering compelling storytelling to viewers.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to highlight that Bell Media, a subsidiary under the umbrella of the Canadian telecom titan BCE Inc., previously established a development partnership with Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate. Additionally, it has a licensing and distribution agreement in place with Fox Entertainment Global and Neshama Entertainment.
Elliot Page and Pageboy Productions are repped by UTA and Vie Entertainment.
