Elon Musk Criticizes Dana Carvey’s ‘SNL’ Impression, Says Show “Has Been Slowly Dying for Years”

As a gamer with a keen interest in pop culture and technology, I find myself intrigued by the ongoing saga between Elon Musk and Saturday Night Live (SNL). Being a child of the 90s, I grew up watching SNL and appreciating Dana Carvey’s comedic genius. However, as a tech enthusiast who admires Elon Musk for his groundbreaking work in space travel and clean energy, I can understand why he might feel misrepresented by an impression.

On a Sunday, Elon Musk shared his thoughts on Twitter, expressing several points of criticism about Dana Carvey’s portrayal of him in Saturday Night Live.

On Saturday evening, SNL started their show following the election, making a playful effort to win over the newly elected president’s favor, having previously mocked and parodied him during numerous performances on the very same stage.

Hernández told Trump that everyone present on the stage had faith in him. Every individual on that stage cast their vote for him.

The show concluded featuring Dana Carvey imitating Musk, rejoicing over Trump’s victory among the cast. Later on in the evening, Musk tweeted his opinion that “SNL” has gradually been losing its vitality because it seems to be growing increasingly detached from reality.

He stated, “Their desperate attempt to bend the rules for fair airtime and boost Kamala ahead of the election actually ended up damaging her campaign even more.” This comment alludes to the recent controversy surrounding Kamala Harris’ appearance on Saturday Night Live, where FCC member Brendan Carr incorrectly asserted it was a breach of equal time provisions. NBC then provided Trump with free advertising as a reaction to this issue.

Under a different post showcasing Dana Carvey’s impression, Musk, who had hosted SNL in 2021 himself, commented, “Dana Carvey simply sounds like the original Dana Carvey.” In another instance, he wrote, “They are incredibly upset that @realDonaldTrump emerged victorious.

As a fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about Saturday’s episode being hosted by the hilarious Bill Burr. In his usual candid style, he shared his relief that the election is finally over, calling it a long-drawn-out process. He also pointed out that everyone knew who they were voting for four years ago, and it seems like we were dragged through an unnecessary year and a half of drama since then.
