Elton John and Madonna End Decades-Long Beef: ‘We Finally Buried The Hatchet’

It seems they’ve put an end to their longstanding dispute, as Madonna recently posted on Instagram indicating that Madonna and Elton John have finally laid their issues to rest!

For many years, it was painful for me to realize that a person I deeply respected publicly expressed their dislike of me as an artist. I found it hard to comprehend,” Madonna penned down. However, she also highlighted John’s significant influence on her career by stating, “Watching him perform during my high school years altered the trajectory of my life.

Growing up, I often felt like a stranger among my peers, but seeing him perform gave me comfort in embracing my uniqueness and choosing the unconventional path, which, as it turns out, was crucial. (Madonna)

The conflict between the two celebrities originated in the early 2000s, with the “Rocket Man” singer being a significant instigator. In 2002, he criticized Madonna’s James Bond theme “Die Another Day.” By 2004, he made derogatory remarks about her during the Q Awards when she was nominated for Best Live Act. His exact words were, “Madonna, best live act? Fuck off… Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot.” In an interview in 2012, he referred to Madonna as resembling a “fairground stripper.

Madonna stated that she paid a visit to John backstage following his performance as the musical guest on this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” with Brandi Carlile. She mentioned that upon meeting him, he immediately said, “I’m sorry,” which promptly dismantled the barrier between them.

John also posted her update on his Instagram Story, labeling the backstage encounter as a “moment of healing.

Madonna expressed that forgiveness is a potent asset. In just a few minutes, we were embracing again. He then shared that he’d composed a song especially for her and wished to work together. It felt as if all events had come back around!

John gave his Saturday Night Live performance recently, following the release of his and Carlile’s collaborative album “Who Believes in Angels”. They advertised this project with a unique one-evening concert last month which was broadcast on CBS on Sunday. In contrast, Madonna announced back in February that she has been working on “Confessions 2”, the sequel to her 2005 album “Confessions On a Dancefloor.
