Endeavor to Sell OpenBet and IMG Arena In Management Buyout Backed By Ari Emanuel

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that watching Endeavor part ways with its businesses is reminiscent of a level boss in a game, stepping aside to let you progress to the next stage. The sale of OpenBet and IMG Arena for $450 million in a management buyout, backed by none other than Ari Emanuel himself, seems like a strategic move to focus on core competencies.

Endeavor is persisting in separating from various business ventures. On Monday, it reached an agreement to offload its OpenBet and IMG Arena segments for a total of $450 million in a management buyout supported by Endeavor’s CEO, Ari Emanuel.

Endeavor plans to transfer ownership of its two sports data companies to OB Global Holdings LLC for a total of $450 million. The transaction will be funded through a mix of cash and borrowed money. Upon completion of the deal, Jordan Levin, CEO of OpenBet, is set to take charge, with Levin himself being part of the acquisition group.

Levin stated that this management buyout empowers us to carry on advancing our strategic goals for wider market penetration and creative product development. Our team is highly optimistic about OpenBet’s future due to its top-tier offerings, exceptional workforce, and robust foundation established after a successful stretch of business growth.

In August, both IMG Arena and OpenBet were made available for purchase. However, Endeavor finalized the acquisition of OpenBet for approximately $800 million in the year 2022.

Endeavor plans to carry on promoting IMG Arena for sale, both before and following the completion of the deal. The divestment of ancillary businesses such as IMG Arena and OpenBet is an essential step prior to Silver Lake’s agreement to make Endeavor a privately-held company.

Last month, Endeavor reached an agreement in the broader transaction to transfer its On Location, IMG, and Professional Bull Riders businesses to its affiliate TKO Group Holdings for a $3.25 billion stock exchange.
