Simon Farnaby, who wrote both “Wonka” and “Paddington 2,” is being directed by Ben Gregor in a currently filming movie. The location for shooting has shifted from the U.K. to Malta following initial production there, and the cast for this family-oriented adventure features Nicola Coughlan, Jessica Gunning, Jennifer Saunders, Rebecca Ferguson, and other talented actors.
The tale, penned by the author known for her enchanting series “The Faraway Tree” books for young readers, revolves around Polly, Tim, and their children Beth, Joe, and Fran. As fate would have it, they are compelled to move to a secluded corner of England. Upon their arrival, the kids stumble upon a mystical tree and its cherished inhabitants like Moonface, Silky, Dame Wash-a-lot, and Saucepan Man. This magical discovery not only brings joy but also helps them rekindle their relationships with each other, something they hadn’t done in years.
As parents, Garfield is set to portray Tim, while Foy will embody Polly in the upcoming production. The production companies responsible for bringing The Magic Faraway Tree to life are Neal Street Productions, Elysian Film Group, and Ashland Hill Media Finance.

The movie was co-credited for production by Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown, and Danny Perkins. It was Perkins who initially developed the film along with Harris when he was in charge of Studiocanal UK.
