Epic Universe Is Pulling Out All The Stops For Its New Dark Universe Attraction, And Fans Can't Get Over How Insane Frankenstein’s Monster Looks: 'Get Me On This Ride'

As a lifelong fan of Universal Studios and everything that goes bump in the night, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment ride at Universal Epic Universe! Growing up, I was always the kid who hid behind my hands during the scary parts of movies, yet couldn’t get enough of the Universal Monsters. Seeing these animatronics come to life right before my eyes is a dream come true!

It’s unlikely that you’ll find the abandoned “Dark Universe” series by Universal on any upcoming movie release schedules anytime soon. Instead, look forward to Leigh Whannell’s chilling take on the Wolf Man, scheduled for 2025. Meanwhile, it seems that the name “Universal Epic Universe” is creating a buzz in the world of theme parks as they develop something new.

Evidence shows that it’s effective, as theme park enthusiasts are in awe over the mind-blowing appearance of the animatronics for the ride Monsters Unleashed: The Frankenstein Experiment. Upon seeing these effects myself, I completely agree with their sentiments. To quote one response I’m going to share, my feelings can be summed up as follows: “Sign me up for this ride!

Introducing Universal Epic Universe’s Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

In the fictional world of Monsters Unchained, the Frankenstein family enterprise thrives, with Dr. Victoria Frankenstein persistently working in the lab that her renowned ancestor established. Darkmoor village is getting ready for an array of chilling encounters, as her ongoing experiment releases a multitude of iconic Universal Monsters into a thrilling ride experience that promises to be unforgettable.

Wow, check out this sneak peek footage Universal Orlando just dropped to tantalize us with their lifelike animatronics! It’s simply mind-blowing!

Experiencing just one of these animatronics could leave even the most hardened theme park visitor in awe. But imagine encountering fourteen of them, all inspired by Universal Monsters legends, within a single thrilling ride! To make it even more exciting, Danny Elfman, known for his dark and eerie compositions, is contributing music to Dark Universe. This means that your adventure might be accompanied by his unique gothic sounds.

But seriously, look at those animatronic figures! No, really, study them a little more, because only then will you understand how much people are going nuts for this coterie of creatures. There may even be an early favorite already forming in the rankings of monsters being unchained.

Theme Park Fans Are Hyped About Monsters Unchained’s New Animatronics

Fans of monsters are apparently finding this new content very appealing, as the unveiling of the Epic Universe ride figures has sparked lots of buzz on social media platforms. Not surprisingly, Frankenstein’s Monster appears to be garnering significant attention among those who appreciate a good fright.

On the other hand, the preliminary clips from Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment have stirred up Universal horror enthusiasts in various ways. You don’t need to rely solely on my opinion; instead, check out some of the responses posted on the social media update displayed above.

  • “WOW! This ride is going to be the sleeper hit of the park, I think!” – @JustinWilsonT
  • “I’ve watched this video twice and I’m still not convinced that Frankenstein isn’t CGI… that can’t be real” – @JArnone1016
  • “GET ME ON THIS RIDE AS A RIDE TESTER NOW!” – @AloisTrancy17
  • “I might get bigger white streaks in my hair from this ride than the Bride, those look scary good and I can only imagine how they’ll look next level in their final environments!” – @RelevntConundrm
  • “This image is the essence of LonChaneyJr tiptoeing through the fog that terrified me as a child, and caused TheWolfman to be my favorite Universal Monster. This incarnation is incredible. I LOVE IT! #StillTerrifying I already know DarkUniverse/Darkmoor, will be my favorite World.” – @AnthonyJTropea

Can one really apply to be a Ride Tester at a major theme park? Because if so, I can think of several people who’d want in on that deal… and I’m one of them! I’ll admit, Universal Epic Universe’s Dark Universe section would be one of the places I’d spend most of my time. That is, whenever I’m not immersing myself in the excitement promised in How To Train Your Dragon’s Isle of Berk.

However, along with my excitement, I have a rather modest proposal to share, and your response sparked an idea in me. Similarly, I think Universal Epic Universe may have picked up some valuable insights from Disney Parks, and I’m eagerly anticipating a similar transformative influence on The Wolf Man’s attraction.

The Potential Wolf Man Effect I Hope Monsters Unchained Is Hiding From Us

In the course of discussing Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, I’ve found myself wondering if there might be a less obvious beast at play in its creation. What we’ve witnessed so far is nothing short of captivating, and it seems to me that perhaps there’s some innovative technology hidden subtly within the animatronics, reminiscent of the advanced robotics seen in places like Hong Kong Disneyland.

I’d like to highlight that specific park due to its connection to the timeless tale of Beauty and the Beast, specifically the Enchanted Tale ride. Just as the animated Belle captivated audiences, Universal Monsters have done with Dark Universe, I am optimistic that the Beast transformation effect shown here will inspire a similar response in The Wolf Man adaptation.

Suppose we were fortunate enough to witness the transformation of Larry Talbot, or whoever it may be in Monsters Unchained’s narrative, from a tormented human into a shaggy monster. That event unfolding before us would undeniably be a spectacle. However, if this transformation isn’t included in The Frankenstein Experiment, I wouldn’t shed any tears over it.

I’d be running as fast as I can towards the entire Dark Universe at Universal Orlando Resort’s fourth gate when it opens. This exciting new world seems tailored just for me, being a fan of monsters like those who created and built it. The thrill of Monsters Unchained only makes me more eager to plan a trip there as soon as possible.

The grandeur of Universal Epic Universe is truly promising, and I’m confident I’m not alone in feeling eager to enter Darkmoor with anticipation. If you share this excitement, too, I recommend planning your future visit without further delay, as the Grand Helios Hotel rooms are being snapped up swiftly – just like a bat on a fast-paced flight at night.
