Epic Universe Isn’t Even Open Yet But One Merch Item Is Already Sold Out, And I Really Need It To Come Back Before I Get There

In just a few weeks, Epic Universe will officially open its gates, and as a theme park enthusiast, my anticipation is growing. Although fresh theme park attractions and expansions are not unusual occurrences, it’s quite exceptional when an entirely new theme park comes to life. I can hardly wait to immerse myself in the novelty of new attractions, food, drinks, and merchandise. However, one item that had me particularly eager – a unique souvenir from the park – has already been sold out.

Even though tickets for a single day at Epic Universe have been released, the park is still not accessible to the general public; it’s currently undergoing early previews exclusively for Universal employees and their families. This exclusive access also grants them priority in purchasing Epic Universe merchandise. Although I’m glad that employees get an early sneak peek, I’m disappointed because a limited-edition vinyl record of Danny Elfman’s Dark Universe music that was circulating on social media sold out quickly when Team Members purchased all available copies in just one day.

Since I’m a fan of theme parks, Universal Monsters, and vinyl records (especially those by Danny Elfman), hearing about an exclusive soundtrack record sold at Epic Universe featuring original music penned by the renowned Danny Elfman was like striking gold to me. I immediately decided to secure a copy once I visited Epic Universe for the first time. However, just as quickly as I discovered its existence, I learned it had already been discontinued.

From promotional materials, we’ve caught a glimpse of the music composed by Danny Elfman for Dark Universe. It seems flawless and promises to enrich the already anticipated atmosphere in what looks set to become my most cherished land within Epic Universe.

As a movie connoisseur, I’m not typically drawn to the merchandise from theme parks. Every now and then, I might pick up a piece of clothing or a mug that I can actually utilize, rather than just adding to my collection. However, a vinyl record is an exception. It’s something I can truly appreciate, and it doesn’t require much storage when not in use, making it a perfect addition to my collection.

It’s uncertain whether the record was a limited edition or not, but there are rumors that the Dark Universe record will be restocked in time for Epic Universe’s grand opening. This news is unfortunate for anyone else hoping to get early access to Epic Universe as only Universal Annual Passholders and those who purchased multi-day vacation packages for Universal Orlando Resort were given the opportunity to buy opening day tickets.

If the record gets restocked, we can anticipate high sales and possibly another sellout. Given standard stock items, supply and demand will eventually reach balance. Yet, with limited supplies, it’s probable that many individuals, including myself, may miss out on purchasing one.
