Epic Universe’s First Hotel Is Now Open, And The First Guests Have Some Strong Opinions

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement as the grand unveiling of Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe theme park draws nearer. Even though we still have a couple more months to wait, the thrilling anticipation has officially begun! In addition to this breathtaking new theme park, Universal Orlando is also set to debut three stunning resort hotels, and I recently had the privilege of being one of the first guests to spend a night at the captivating Universal Stella Nova Resort. It’s going to be a magical time for all of us movie lovers!

Generally speaking, Stella Nova resort seems to be well-received by many guests, albeit with a few common glitches that need addressing and an unusual problem cropping up. On the Twitter social media platform, The Resort Ratings posted their usual pros-cons analysis, indicating some flaws but overall, things seem positive at Stella Nova.

As a dedicated movie enthusiast and frequent visitor to Universal Orlando, I must say that Stella Nova stands out as one of their latest Value resorts, catering more towards budget-conscious guests like myself. The average nightly rate for these accommodations hovers around the $200 mark, making it an affordable option compared to other hotels in the area. Interestingly enough, Universal seems to be leaning towards developing more Value properties, as evidenced by their recent addition – the Dockside Inn & Suites, which was the last new hotel they built in Universal Orlando.

To clarify, this won’t offer a lavish experience, intentionally so. The offered cuisine, based on the menus, seems quite ordinary, yet there are certain items that theme park reporter Carly Cramanna has discovered she genuinely enjoys.

Although there were plenty of favorable reactions following the opening night at Stella Nova, not all responses have been positive. In fact, Universal News Today’s initial impressions are entirely unfavorable, with criticism over issues like the soundproofing in the walls, malfunctioning sheets, and certain fixtures not working properly.

Nevertheless, the most peculiar feedback regarding Stella Nova originates from a YouTuber who’s expressed concern over an uncommon noise, seemingly caused by rain striking the hotel facade. Although some comments suggest this problem doesn’t occur everywhere, it’s undeniably audible in the short video shared within the post.

The article implies that the noise could be caused by raindrops striking the metallic panels that encircle the entire hotel, although it remains uncertain if this is indeed the case. These reflective panels lend a distinctive appearance to the building, though they might not be ideal during rainfall, but they shine brilliantly in sunlight.

Almost all these problems, if indeed they are problems, will likely be resolved swiftly. It seems that these visitors might be the hotel’s first guests, and there wasn’t much advance information about the hotel beforehand. Therefore, it’s reasonable, albeit a bit annoying, if things aren’t running smoothly.

From my perspective, the transport bus service at Universal Orlando has generally been quite reliable and superior to that at Walt Disney World. It’s hoped that recent concerns about issues with this system might be temporary, perhaps due to the novelty of a newly established route.

Water problems are probably due to the pipes not being utilized for a while, whereas burnt-out lights can easily be swapped out.

A potential concern is that the quality of the beds isn’t top-notch, especially considering they are crucial for a good night’s sleep before embarking on a long day at Universal Orlando. If the soundproofing in the hotel isn’t up to par, the significance of having a comfortable bed increases significantly.

Or,

The poor quality of the beds might prove to be a bigger problem, given that they are essential for a good night’s rest before exploring Universal Orlando all day. If the soundproofing in the hotel isn’t effective, the need for a comfortable bed becomes even more important.

The reviews for Stella Nova are expected to closely resemble those of Universal’s Terra Luna Resort when it opens in March, as the two hotels share many similarities and are virtually adjacent to each other. While there are some variations in their theming, Terra Luna is essentially a sister property to Stella Nova.

A major shift is expected when the Helios Grand Hotel debuts, serving as the premier accommodation within the Epic Universe. This hotel is uniquely connected to our newly built theme park, ensuring guests an exclusive entrance. Given its premium location and price, it’s reasonable to anticipate high expectations for this hotel.

I’m thrilled to share that I can’t wait for the grand opening of Helios, scheduled alongside the launch of Epic Universe on May 22! Tickets for this incredible adventure are already available, but here’s a fun twist – they can only be purchased as part of a Universal Orlando vacation package. Can’t wait to embark on this epic journey soon!
