Erin Doherty Battles Stephen Graham Outside the Ring in ‘A Thousand Blows’ Trailer

The brand new trailer for Hulu’s boxing drama, “A Thousand Blows,” features Erin Doherty from “The Crown” engaging in verbal sparring with the menacing Sugar Goodson, portrayed by Stephen Graham from “Peaky Blinders.” This interaction takes place outside of the ring and serves to expand Mary Carr’s criminal network.

Goodson, proclaimed as the emperor of London’s East End boxing realm, threateningly says to Carr, “Let me see you eliminate him.” Carr, leader of an all-female criminal group named the Forty Elephants, retorts confidently, “That won’t occur,” as Carr plans to leverage Kirby, a Jamaican boxer portrayed by Hezekiah Moscow, who aims to dethrone Goodson in the underground boxing arena.

In “A Thousand Blows,” we witness the intersection of three lives as they vie for dominance over the criminal underworld of Victorian London’s East End, a tale inspired by authentic characters and events. This compelling drama is jointly created by The Story Collective in collaboration with Matriarch Productions and Water & Power Productions.

The series boasts an extensive lineup of actors such as Francis Lovehall, Jason Tobin, James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Walters, Darci Shaw, Nadia Albina, Morgan Hilaire, Jemma Carlton, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Susan Lynch, Daniel Mays, Adam Nagaitis, Gary Lewis, Tom Davis, and Robert Glenister.

The initial season consisting of six episodes titled “A Thousand Blows” is set to debut on February 21st in the US on Hulu, while viewers abroad can stream it on Disney+. The series has been penned primarily by Steven Knight, the mastermind behind Peaky Blinders, with additional writing from Ameir Brown, Insook Chappell, Harlan Davies, and Yasmin Joseph.

The show is overseen by Tinge Krishnan, Nick Murphy, Ashley Walters, and Coky Giedroyc, as they take on the roles of director and executive producer.
