Following the presentation of its fifth anniversary collection at Dover Street Market’s Paris showroom between January 24 -28, ERL has revealed its entire FW25 lookbook. In an unexpected move for this brand, known for its bold representations of youth culture and relaxed styles influenced by Eli Russell Linnetz’s Southern California upbringing, the new collection demonstrates a sense of self-control instead.
As a gamer, I’m sharing some behind-the-scenes info: ERL’s latest FW25 lookbook was captured amidst the recent devastating wildfires in LA. It’s crazy to think that these flames forced thousands of us to flee our homes. Before unveiling the new collection, the brand showed solidarity by launching a special California baseball cap. Every penny from this cap goes directly to charities helping those affected by these fires. In a strange twist, Eli Russell Linnetz had to trim down his collection due to the tragic events, keeping only the essential items that complete a man’s wardrobe for the shoot.
Stepping into a new phase, ERL’s FW25 collection moves away from its bright, sun-washed designs and vibrant color schemes towards sleek shapes and muted tones. This fresh assortment, made up entirely of brand-new styles, sets the stage for ERL’s upcoming chapter, emphasizing modern interpretations of classic menswear essentials spanning both past and present.
As I step into the world of gaming, I’m drawn to the effortless elegance that ERL offers. They’ve reimagined classic tailoring with an unconventional twist using nylon fabrics, keeping their surf-inspired spirit alive.
One look is a navy blazer matched with crisp shirts, blue denims, and black dress shoes – a nod to 2000s business casual. Another outfit takes me back to the 80s with a roomy navy suit, a polka dot necktie, and an iconic ERL belt buckle that screams power dressing.
But what truly catches my eye is a combination of a white tuxedo shirt, vest, baggy pleated trousers, and a black puffer jacket – it’s like they’ve blended old Hollywood style with something fresh and modern.
The designs from earlier seasons by ERL that leaned towards being more active are carried forward this time around with a collection of ski-friendly pieces, all presented in a monochrome nylon color scheme. Models are shown holding skis, while ERL’s tactical backpacks complement the crinkled shell jacket and pants sets, which feature white and grey accents.
Warm, snuggly sweaters and thick winter jackets come in cozy shades of taupe and brown, perfecting luxurious layered ensembles with rich textures. A striking winter-ready look features an entire tan outfit including a padded coat and trousers, complemented by a shearling-lined jacket and the brand’s Vamp sneaker in suede. In other areas, a dark brown dress shirt and pleated pants are styled casually with a chunky knit sweater draped over the shoulders, exuding effortless preppiness.
Take a look at the complete FW25 lineup by ERL displayed above, and keep an eye out for its launch on their official online store later on.
