Actress Krysten Ritter is gearing up to slip back into the superhero cape once more. She’s set to resume her character, Jessica Jones, who was previously a superhero before turning to detective work, in the upcoming second season of the series.
As a gamer, I posted a snapshot on my Instagram Story, showcasing an intense workout session with my Born Again costar, Charlie Cox, and our fitness guru, Naqam Washington. I captioned it, “Superhero training with Charlie and [Naqam],” complete with Jessica Jones and Daredevil sticker gifs beneath the photo. Later, Naqam shared the same image on his personal account, boasting about being the safest man in NY because he’s ‘protected by Daredevil and Jessica Jones.’ To top it off, we hit the gym after spending the entire day filming Born Again Season 2!
Six years after my Netflix series as Jessica Jones came to an end, I’ve found myself repeatedly answering queries about a potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The buzz only grew louder when Marvel Studios acknowledged that the shows from the Defenders Saga, streaming now on Disney+, are an integral part of the MCU’s timeline. This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the creative revamp in Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, which brought the continuation more in line with the tone and aesthetic of our original Netflix series.
In May 2025, it was confirmed that Ritter would reprise his role as Daredevil: Born Again during Disney’s presentation in New York City. Excitedly, he expressed, “It’s fantastic to be back! After three seasons with Jessica and the Defenders, now joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I can’t wait to revive this renowned character. Hinting at what’s to come without revealing too much… there are some amazing things in store for Jessica Jones – this upcoming season will be fantastic!
The first installment of Born Again concluded with Daredevil and Karen Page mobilizing a force to challenge Mayor Kingpin and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Fans have speculated that the Defenders might reunite in Season 2 due to this mention of an “army,” but as of now, only Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones has been officially confirmed to join Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the next season. Additionally, Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and there are indications that Daredevil may form a tenuous alliance with Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye in the upcoming storyline.
Born Again Season 2 Won’t Be the End of Daredevil in the MCU
The second season of “Born Again” is set to meet its initial 18-episode commitment from Marvel Studios. However, the showrunner hinted back in February that the series might extend past its second season. He said, “I’m not sure if the story concludes at the end of the second season. I believe the future is yet to be written.” Similarly, Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, has suggested they have a plan for additional seasons, but any further installments would depend on viewer engagement and excitement.
At the moment, you can watch both “Daredevil” and “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 1 over on Disney+. It has been announced that “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2 will make its debut on the streaming platform in March 2026.
