The President’s recent plan to impose tariffs on video game goods has sparked worry within the gaming industry. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA), comprising big names like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Electronic Arts, is particularly vocal about the potential consequences. According to a statement from the ESA that Kotaku obtained, the organization appealed to the administration to consult with the private sector before implementing these import taxes.

The European Space Agency cautions that tariffs might negatively impact both the gaming sector and American consumers, potentially affecting millions who depend on affordable gaming alternatives. Specifically, tariffs on goods imported from China, Canada, and Mexico could directly affect video game consoles, add-ons, and associated merchandise.
