Escape from Tarkov: All new weapons in patch 0.15

As a seasoned survivor of the harsh wastelands of Tarkov, I must say, the arrival of the M60E4/M60E6 is nothing short of a game-changer! The sheer power and versatility these LMGs bring to the table is simply astounding. I can already hear the echoes of my enemies quivering in fear at the sight of this beast.

Here you have a complete rundown of the latest weapons along with their respective ammunition, offering you a sneak peek into the upcoming changes in this new update.

All new weapons (patch 0.15)

In the latest update, you’ll find 12 newly introduced firearms at your disposal. These can be categorized into four distinct “groups”, each featuring slight differences and color schemes.

  • IWI UZI 9×19 submachine gun
  • IWI UZI PRO Pistol 9×19 submachine gun
  • IWI UZI PRO SMG 9×19 submachine gun
  • SR-3M 9×39 compact assault rifle
  • Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mk XIX .50 AE pistol
  • Magnum Research Desert Eagle L5 .50 AE pistol
  • Magnum Research Desert Eagle L5 .357 pistol
  • Magnum Research Desert Eagle L6 .50 AE pistol
  • Magnum Research Desert Eagle L6 .50 AE pistol (WTS)
  • US Ordnance M60E4 7.62×51 light machine gun

IWI UZI

In the world of Tarkov, the iconic UZI design has now been introduced. Known for its compact size and swift firing rate, this submachine gun will coexist with the MP7 but use 9×19 ammunition. It’s expected to be a preferred budget option in the upcoming server reset.

SR-3M

Escape from Tarkov: All new weapons in patch 0.15

We already have the SR-1MP and the SR-2M in the game, so the addition of the SR-3M is definitely welcome. However, the key difference here is the ammo in question – as the 3M uses 9x39mm rounds instead of the standard 9x21mm.

If you recognize them, you’ll see that these are similar to the subsonic rounds used in weapons like the VSS, AS VAL, and others. It’s expected that this will have a more advantageous standing within the game compared to the VSK-94 and 9A-91. I can’t wait to try it out during a mission once I get the opportunity.

Magnum Research Desert Eagle

Players have been asking for the Desert Eagle for years now, and it has previously seemed like quite the impossible task. It has finally made the jump into the game though, and even has five different variants to choose from.

The key difference between these variants is the eligible ammunition, as four use .50 calibre rounds, whereas the remaining one uses the weaker .357 calibre. The former is an entirely new ammo calibre to be added to the game, and I’m expecting it to be extremely strong and incredibly difficult to control.

US Ordance M60E6/M60E4

Escape from Tarkov: All new weapons in patch 0.15

In patch 0.15, a fresh light machine gun enters the scene with two versions: the M60E4 and M60E6. These are the debut western LMGs in the game, making them the first in the highly strategic 7.62×51 ammo category.

Despite the clear drawbacks associated with Light Machine Guns (LMGs), they remain widely preferred, primarily because of the powerful ammunition they fire. In fact, when combined with 20-round Minimi Demolition Rifles (MDRs), they dominate the current battlefield dynamics. So, envision the impact if this potent ammo were extended to a full-size magazine!

In update 0.15, a fresh ammunition size has been introduced: .50 Action Express. This novel cartridge brings along four unique rounds specifically designed for the Desert Eagle.

In simpler terms, FMJ (Flat Nose Bullet) has an impressive penetration capability on paper, managing to pierce through Class 4 armor and helmets with ease due to its 40 penetration power. Nevertheless, if you’re after sheer stopping power, the JHP (Jacketed Hollow Point) bullet could be more appealing as its 147 damage is nothing to scoff at – particularly when dealing with bosses.
