As a seasoned survivor of Tarkov’s harsh landscapes, I can confidently say that Jaeger’s latest quest, Rough Tarkov, is a thrilling challenge for any aspiring raider. With my trusty map and years of experience under my belt, let me guide you through the intricacies of this daring expedition.
In the latest update, version 0.15, of Escape from Tarkov, Jaeger has introduced a fresh quest called “Harsh Tarkov”. This quest plays a significant role if you plan on utilizing tripwires during your missions.
Once again, the instructions provided might seem a bit unclear, but rest assured that I’ve clearly indicated the destination to ensure there’s no room for misunderstanding.
How to complete Rough Tarkov
Engaging in Rough Tarkov involves just two main stages, however, it will lead you to various maps and expose you to possibly hazardous environments.
- Locate the heavily mined area on Woods
- Locate the Claymore mine of Ground Zero
As a gamer, I always make sure to familiarize myself with the game map to avoid accidentally encountering an obstacle that might kick me back to my starting point.
Where is the heavily mined area on Woods?
To locate the heavily mined region, you should make your way towards the USEC Camp in Woods, which happens to be part of your route for completing Prapor’s Search Mission task.
As a keen explorer, I’d choose to journey northwest from the bustling Logging Camp, or venture southeast of the Deserted Village, keeping close to the trail lined with tall, humming electrical pylons.
As you progress, you will come across a trash-filled pylon with a large, blue dumpster nearby. After that, make your way up the hill and you’ll find the USEC camp; you’ll recognize it by the sight of a black 4×4 and a blue pickup truck.
To your right, past the two parked vehicles, there’s a medical station. Proceed in that direction, veer slightly to your left, and continue walking until you reach the sandbag-covered area.
In my enthusiastic exploration, I’ll find myself at a certain region where the next task awaits. However, to activate it, I’ll have to leap over those sandbags strategically placed along the way.
Where is the Claymore mine on Ground Zero?
The Claymore mine is situated within the Empire building, right in the heart of the map, with TerraGroup nearby on one side and Fusion directly across from it.
Downstairs, look for the Tarbank section, and then search for a gap in the wall. In the gap, you’ll notice some graffiti saying “Keep Out!” which might serve as a caution.
As you proceed beyond the written area along the hallway, you’ll encounter additional red text, but this time in Russian, accompanied by an arrow pointing forward once more. At the end of the corridor, make a right turn and you’ll find a pair of doors. The one at the far end will be open.
Approach the open door without stepping inside, as the explosive device, known as a claymore, is placed right past it. However, the warning should go off just as you’re about to enter, providing you with ample time to confirm that you’re not in danger of being detonated.
Rough Tarkov quest rewards
Completing Rough Tarkov will get you the following rewards:
- 4,400 XP
- +0.01 Jaeger rep
- 63,030 Roubles
- 2x Tripwire installation kit
You won’t find the Tripwire any earlier than this, because it isn’t obtained through raids, sold at the flea market, or made accessible by the Traders until you finish this specific quest series first.
