Ethan Millman Joins The Hollywood Reporter as Music Editor

The Hollywood Reporter has named Ethan Millman as its music editor.

Millman, moving from Rolling Stone, has taken on a new position at THR where he’ll oversee music-related content for both print and digital platforms. His responsibilities will encompass the music industry, the art of music production, artist and executive portraits, tech and financial updates, significant live events, as well as the connection between music and film/TV. Based in Los Angeles, he’ll work under THR co-editor-in-chief Shirley Halperin.

Halperin stated that Ethan’s extensive knowledge of the music industry and talent for creating engaging narratives make him a priceless asset to our editorial team. At this stage of his successful journalism career, his leadership will raise the bar for our music coverage, guaranteeing we continue to provide stories that the industry is eager to read, such as exclusive news.

After Halperin was appointed as co-editor-in-chief together with Maer Roshan in November, Millman is set to lead the broadening of THR‘s comprehensive music coverage.

For five years, Millman has been a versatile journalist at Rolling Stone, crafting numerous pieces about the music industry. His work includes critically acclaimed investigative pieces on Danny Elfman and Rodney Bingenheimer. Before that, he contributed reports to the Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. He graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.

Millman officially joins THR as music editor on March 10.
