Etheria: Restart guide – 7 tips for newbies

To ensure a strong start in any game, it’s usually beneficial to have a comprehensive guide at hand, ideally one that goes beyond the fundamentals. I’ve created an Etheria: Restart Guide to help you understand precisely the right moves and what to steer clear of, particularly during the initial phases.

From handling your stamina to using your top-tier currency for banners, I’ll go over all the key aspects you should be aware of.

About Etheria: Restart

Etheria: Restart is a pretty classic turn-based gacha, but on top of that, there is an element of freedom – the world almost feels like an open world where you get to interact with the environment, search for loot, and even try choosing which enemies you attack.

Etheria: Restart possesses distinctive characteristics common in open-world MMOs, lending it a special touch. Notably, this game follows the gacha model, and effectively managing your resources is crucial – perhaps even more so than in other games unless you’re willing to constantly spend money from your wallet on the in-game shop.

While it isn’t as pay-to-win (P2W) as other games I’ve encountered, it still leans more towards being less friendly for free-to-play (F2P) players. However, you can still have a chance to acquire some top-tier characters in Etheria: Restart by making use of the many free pulls you receive from Etheria codes.

Etheria: Restart Guide Breakdown

This Etheria: Restart guide will focus mainly on a few tips that you need to drill into your head from the beginning (even more so if you are a F2P player). I’ve played this for quite a bit, and it’s really fun if you love the genre. It’s even better if you manage to get some top-tier characters, since they will make your battles feel like a walk in the park.

If you aim to make progress swiftly, here are some practical suggestions for you. Let’s jump straight into it!

Tip #1 – Focus on the Main Story and first clear

Upon beginning gameplay, you’ll find that clearing your initial stages could earn you some substantial bonuses. It would be beneficial to concentrate on amassing these rewards across multiple stages. This accumulation will yield a significant amount of Hydra Crystals and summon tickets.

Ambush your enemies

A useful tip is to catch your adversaries off guard, which will significantly speed up your advancement in most battles. This tactic can be employed almost anywhere, making progression quicker, especially during the early stages. If you can defeat your opponents prior to engagement, you won’t have to engage in the fights at all.

Tip #2 – Explore the world and open all the chests

Among Etheria: Restart’s notable aspects, the chests truly shine. As you traverse the world, you’ll encounter numerous chests filled with intriguing items. I strongly suggest you slow down and open every one you find. The chests are especially rewarding because they contain Crystals and summon tickets!

Each level contains hidden treasure chests in various spots, so I recommend you thoroughly explore each room you enter to ensure you don’t miss any chests. Additionally, collecting all the chests in a specific area will earn you achievements, making this a beneficial pursuit regardless of your goal.

Tip #3 – Learn your characters’ skills and use them in the right order

Each character you utilize possesses unique strengths and vulnerabilities. As we’ve seen thus far, some characters excel at inflicting damage, others specialize in debilitating enemies, while others focus on healing. To emerge victorious in battles, it’s essential to comprehend each character’s abilities thoroughly. For example, Gray boasts a skill that increases his and his allies’ Critical Rate.

It’s beneficial for each character to possess unique abilities that significantly impact the game at the outset, so it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with these skills, especially for your primary team members. Moreover, for optimal results, try playing the game manually rather than on auto mode. This way, you have control over when and how to utilize each character’s skills without wasting any turns.

Use Auto when you know you can win

The question arises: Under what circumstances should you opt for the auto battle feature? To me, it seems straightforward. If your characters possess enough strength to overpower their opponents regardless of any buffs or debuffs they might receive, then playing the stage on auto is appropriate. Conversely, if paying close attention to these factors is crucial for success, it’s advisable to play manually.

Tip #4 – Focus on just a few characters

In the game Etheria: Restart, it’s crucial to focus on managing and allocating your resources effectively. This includes the specific resources required for character upgrades such as Investigation Records (EXP), Modules, Anime Imprints, and Shells.

Pay close attention in Etheria: Restart to how you use your game resources, particularly those needed for enhancing your characters, which are Investigation Records, Modules, Anime Imprints, and Shells.

It’s best to enhance a few key characters to their maximum potential, making them capable of handling any fight. After amassing sufficient resources once more, concentrate on improving the remaining members of your team. Upgrading characters that aren’t used is not efficient, as it unnecessarily wastes resources.

It would be beneficial to prioritize using Lian first because she is a free SSR character obtained from the tutorial. If you’ve successfully pulled Freya from the gacha with rerolls, then focus on her next. Lastly, work towards obtaining Lingluo by completing quests. Regarding your final character, it depends on which higher-tier or above SSR character you manage to draw in the gacha. If you already have a stronger DPS than Lian, feel free to skip her instead.

Tip #5 – Complete your beginner missions

Initially, it’s beneficial to prioritize a select number of tasks. These tasks serve as a roadmap for your progression, and they offer valuable rewards that will be useful later on. Here are the tasks you should concentrate on:

1. [Task 1 name]
2. [Task 2 name]
3. [Task 3 name]
4. …and so forth.

  • 7-Day Commission
  • 7-Day Check In
  • Task Progress
  • Hyperlink Charter

These tasks are quite straightforward; mostly, they involve playing the game as usual throughout your daily routine. You’ll find that you complete most of them with ease. The 7-Day Check In is particularly effortless – all you need to do is log in every day and you’ll be rewarded with numerous Anime Prototype tickets (summoning tickets).

To ensure you’re prepared for each task, I advise you to thoroughly review the task requirements and keep tabs on them. This way, you can determine if you need to enhance certain characters, use Crystals, or improve equipment – tasks that these events often require you to accomplish.

Tip #6 – How to spend your Hydra Crystals

As a gamer, if you find yourself with some favorite characters on your account, my advice would be to hold onto your hard-earned Crystals. I made the mistake of splurging mine on the gacha after getting the characters I desired, only to realize there was no need for more once I got Freya (or whichever character you’re aiming for). So, save those Crystals wisely!

Instead, consider using your Hydra Crystals daily for Stamina refills. This is particularly beneficial for free-to-play players, as it helps you advance more, level up your account, and aim for higher positions on the leaderboards. It’s advisable to steer clear of spending your Crystals on the gacha, as the returns aren’t substantial.

A beneficial method to utilize your Crystals initially involves the Animus Reconfigure. This is a feature that allows you to reset characters such as Lian, who are advantageous at the beginning but may not be effective later on. You can reconfigure this character for free the first time, after which it will require Crystals.

Once you’ve completed these tasks and find yourself with remaining Crystals, feel free to visit the Shop and its Weekly Packs. There, you can buy the Crystal Supply I and Crystal Supply II packages. Notably, the Crystal Supply II comes with 5 Apex Prototypes, which are valuable for summoning in limited gachas. You can store these prototypes and use them when a banner appears for a character you desperately want to obtain.

Tip #7 – Farming should be on your daily to-do list

To advance at a swift pace, it’s advisable to delve into farming. Farming can be done in both Daily Challenges and Trial Challenges, where you’ll likely expend much of your Stamina. The objective is to ascend to Level 15 and unlock the Limited Events. These events are rich sources of various resources, including Crystals.

Here’s a suggestion for you: Each day, use up all your energy doing these tasks – think of it as farming. It would be best to focus on farming DokiDoki during the Threshold challenge, as that’s where you can potentially obtain end-game gear once you engage her in Hell I and higher difficulties.

Essentially, consider it like improving your profile daily while simultaneously preparing for future challenges – it’s an ongoing task that might require effort, but is crucial to do each day.
