heads up: plot details for episodes 5 and 6 of the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again” (airing in 2025) may reveal sensitive information. you can watch it now by subscribing to Disney+.
Enthusiasts of the series “Daredevil: Born Again” received a delightful surprise during the latest streaming night, as they were treated to not one but two episodes instead of the usual single release. Combining the fifth and sixth episodes was a smart move in my opinion, although I must admit that receiving additional content featuring Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson in Episode 6 would have made me even more ecstatic. However, I realized early on in Episode 6 that it was just a brief cameo moment, rather than an entire new storyline for the beloved characters.
Well, it’s worth noting that the latest trailer certainly packs a punch, and it seems particularly exciting for enthusiasts of “Born Again” who were fond of the Netflix adaptation of “Daredevil”!
Why I Got My Hopes Up
I usually skip opening credit sequences of TV shows, even when they’re as captivating as Daredevil’s, but I made an exception for the recent releases. This time, however, I was taken aback to notice that only Charlie Cox and Mohan Kapur from Ms. Marvel were listed in the cast credits for Episode 5, which hinted that it would be a self-contained episode with minimal involvement from the main cast other than the lead character.
In Episode 5’s opening, there was an intriguing hint that led to a “Previously On” segment in Episode 6 heavily emphasizing the Punisher logo, reminding me of the Netflix series where Jon Bernthal debuted as Frank Castle. His initial appearance in Born Again showed he was still top-notch as the ruthless avenger, so I’ve been keeping a close watch for more appearances like that.
Of course, I found myself closely scrutinizing the credits, hoping to spot Bernthal’s name as an indicator that Frank would be involved, but I was taken aback when Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson were listed instead. Already, the trailer had hinted at Woll returning beyond the series premiere, and Foggy’s death didn’t necessarily rule out a flashback sequence. (You can verify this around the 8:42 mark of Episode 6, available on Disney+.)
Initially, my expectations were quite optimistic. Unfortunately, it appears that the two main actors from the previous “Daredevil” series were only given credit because Episode 6 featured flashbacks to their scenes of Foggy’s demise, which occurred in the first episode when Karen tried to rescue him. Additionally, Jon Bernthal was not included.
Despite uncertainty about whether Karen and Foggy managed to make the final cut following significant changes during filming, it’s on me for getting overly optimistic. However, upon reflection, I’m grateful that an impressive midseason preview was unveiled.
The Latest Daredevil: Born Again Trailer
In this updated version: The recently unveiled trailer, preceding Episodes 5 and 6, incorporates footage from the intense initial trailer while also showcasing fresh snippets. These new segments highlight Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle collaborating with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock. However, Karen is absent from the clip. Given my enthusiasm for their interactions in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2, the prospect of Frank and Matt working together hints at an action-packed, potentially violent spectacle that viewers can anticipate. Here’s a glimpse:
The new trailer before Episodes 5 and 6 has some old brutal footage and new scenes with Jon Bernthal and Charlie Cox teaming up. Karen is missing, but if you liked their scenes in Season 2 of Daredevil, it seems like an exciting, possibly violent showdown is coming for us to watch. Check it out:
Is it clear to you that Matt will fully commit to working alongside the gun-wielding Punisher, featuring a scene where Frank appears to jump off a building and an assault on a potential building belonging to Matt? I must admit, I don’t know for certain, as we haven’t witnessed the scenes with Fisk in his signature white suit or Bullseye with a missing tooth yet. However, I can’t help but be thrilled at the prospect of these teased events unfolding, although it remains to be seen when we’ll get to see Karen and Foggy again.
Catch up with Daredevil, Kingpin, and more characters from Netflix to Disney+, as they return in brand-new episodes every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on the Disney streaming platform. Additionally, don’t miss out on other Marvel series that originally premiered on Netflix. With possibilities for character returns expanding, it’s a good idea to brush up on who’s involved!
