As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of cinema, I must say that this list is a veritable treasure trove of films, spanning genres and eras. From the timeless horror classics like ‘The Mummy’ and ‘Night of the Living Dead’, to comedies such as ‘National Lampoon’s Animal House’ and ‘School of Rock’, there’s something for every movie enthusiast here.
Peacock, a well-known streaming service, has been instrumental in making movies and TV shows easily accessible for viewers. It stands out even amidst increasing competition by providing an extensive variety of content not commonly found on other platforms, such as classic films, sports programming like wrestling. Remarkably, Peacock’s library is just as vast as industry leaders like Prime Video, consistently updating with fresh titles monthly. By August 2024, Peacock made hits like Renfield, The Fall Guy, and The Bikeriders available to its subscribers.
As more movies are set to debut on streaming platforms, it’s just a matter of time before Peacock secures them and simplifies things for its subscribers. In the upcoming month alone, Peacock will have an abundance of films available, including fan favorites like the Spider-Man series and a timeless monster movie that continues to send shivers down viewers’ spines. Here are the movies joining Peacock in September 2024.
The Amazing Spider-Man I & II (2012-2014)
Streaming September 1
Various interpretations of the character Spider-Man have been presented throughout time, including the movie series starring Tobey Maguire and more recently, Tom Holland’s portrayal in contemporary times. Initially, Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man film series was criticized by some viewers, but it has since gained a positive reputation and is generally appreciated now.
Starting this coming September, you’ll have the chance to stream both ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 1’ and ‘2’ on Peacock. This is great news for fans who want to re-experience these critically praised movies. Not only have they been commercial hits, with each film earning over $700 million globally while being made on a budget of just $200 million, but with Andrew Garfield joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, there’s renewed interest in these films. So, mark your calendars for September 1st!
Hollow Man (2000)
Streaming September 1
Featuring well-known top actors, the movie titled “The Invisible One” unfortunately failed to impress critics and viewers upon its release in the year 2000. The film revolves around Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon), a self-centered researcher who manages to make living beings invisible through his experiment. However, when he tries the right formula on himself, he becomes invisible but is unable to regain his normal form. As time passes, Caine’s situation deteriorates, leading to unexpected complications for the research team. Stream The Invisible One on Peacock starting September 1.
Land of the Dead (2005)
Streaming September 1
Out of all the zombie movies directed by George A. Romero, “Land of the Dead” stands out as a refreshing take, skillfully depicting the complexities of a post-zombie apocalypse scenario and offering an unexpected twist in its ending. Released in 2005, this movie is set in a world overrun by zombies, with only a fortified city providing sanctuary for the remaining humans. Yet, when both external zombie threats and internal city politics start to change, what ensues? “Land of the Dead“, featuring Simon Baker, Asia Argento, Dennis Hopper, and John Leguizamo, will be joining Peacock’s library on September 1.
The Thing (1982)
Streaming September 1
1982’s “The Thing,” directed by John Carpenter, stands as a chilling horror masterpiece that ranks alongside a select few movies. The film features Kurt Russell and is set in the desolate landscape of Antarctica. Upon discovering a Norwegian research station, the team uncovers a terrifying secret: something sinister has occurred within its walls. But before they can react, their predicament worsens drastically when an extraterrestrial life-form, capable of inhabiting human bodies, emerges suddenly, making it extremely difficult for the crew to survive.
John Carpenter’s classic film “The Thing” remains one of his most impressive works and is often considered among Kurt Russell’s finest acting efforts. Regrettably, the film’s 2011 prequel, titled “The Thing,” starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton, fell short in comparison to its predecessor. Beginning September 1st, you can stream “The Thing” on Peacock.
