As a cinephile who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of cinema, I must say that this list is quite intriguing! From timeless classics like “The Untouchables” and “Rain Man” to modern masterpieces such as “Sicario” and “Knives Out”, it’s a veritable smorgasbord of cinematic delights.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but appreciate the consistent expansion of my go-to streaming service, Amazon Prime Video. Renowned for its constant influx of fresh movies and series, it continues to captivate viewers like me with an ever-growing library. As we approach the end of 2024, I’m particularly excited about the upcoming additions to their monthly film and TV show lineup.
Just like any other month, Amazon Prime Video is set to introduce a fresh lineup of films for December viewing. This array includes some blockbuster titles from DC Comics as well as timeless Westerns that have left an indelible mark on cinema history. If you’re curious about the upcoming offerings from one of the leading streaming services, here’s a glance at every movie scheduled to debut on Prime Video in December 2024.
‘Joker’
Streaming December 1
Despite the fact that “Joker: Folie à Deux” fell short compared to its predecessor, “Joker,” which came out in 2019, it is still considered an outstanding movie. This is because we haven’t had a flawless origin story in live-action until now, and this film managed to achieve just that.
In the film, Arthur is a comedian who failed but has an immense desire to bring joy to others. Sadly, the people he tries to amuse end up mocking and tormenting him instead. But when all the negativity ignites his hidden persona, he transforms into a menacing clown in his future self. Starting December 1st, Joker will be streaming on Prime Video.
‘The Batman’
Streaming December 1
Regardless of how many reinterpretations of Batman there are, viewers rarely express dissatisfaction since they’ve been eagerly anticipating a faithful adaptation of the comic books for quite some time. In that context, The Batman, which hit theaters in 2022, stands out as the most authentic portrayal of the vigilante, and Robert Pattinson excelled in bringing him to life, surpassing even the highest expectations.
Under the guidance of director Matt Reeves, the movie delves into the story of Batman, compelled to probe the origins of Gotham’s corruption when a ruthless serial killer begins slaying influential city figures. The film will be accessible on Prime Video starting December 1.
‘Once Upon A Time In The West’
Streaming December 1
In the Year 1969, a masterpiece known as “Once Upon a Time in the West” was born under the skillful direction of Sergio Leone and a story conceived by Dario Argento. This spaghetti Western film has been hailed as one of the finest movies ever crafted, and many enthusiasts dream that if there could be just one more Western produced, this would be it. The succinct summary for “Once Upon a Time in the West” is as follows:
There’s a single piece of land around Flagstone with water on it, and rail baron Morton (Gabriele Ferzetti) aims to have it, knowing the new railroad will have to stop there. He sends his henchman Frank (Henry Fonda) to scare the land’s owner, McBain (Frank Wolff), but Frank kills him instead and pins it on a known bandit, Cheyenne (Jason Robards). Meanwhile, a mysterious gunslinger with a score to settle (Charles Bronson) and McBain’s new wife, Jill (Claudia Cardinale), arrive in town.
Once Upon A Time In The West will be available for streaming on Prime Video on Dec. 1.
‘A Quiet Place: Day One’
Streaming December 31
The unexpected film “A Quiet Place: Day One” surpassed expectations, although its predecessors had set the bar very high. Unlike previous installments, this prequel narrated the story in an entirely unique manner. The narrative centers around a young woman named Sam, who is thrilled to be in the city with her beloved cat, Frodo. However, when alien creatures with extraordinary hearing abilities invade the city, she finds herself alone and struggling for survival, along with a small group of other survivors.
Although “A Quiet Place: Day One,” featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, might not have met all the hype suggested by its trailer, it nonetheless offered a significant experience to fans of the franchise when it premiered. Starting from Dec. 31, you can stream this movie on Amazon Prime Video.
