As a devoted fan of the silver screen and small screen alike, I must say that this year’s Golden Globe nominations have left me absolutely thrilled! The fourth season of “Only Murders in the Building” has not only kept us hooked with its intriguing plot but also managed to secure four nominations, including three for our beloved trio, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.
Only Murders in the Building has received four Golden Globe nominations for its fourth season.
Stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez have each received a nomination for a Golden Globe award, respectively playing Charles Hayden-Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora in the Hulu show. The show itself has been nominated as the best television series within the comedy or musical category.
Martin and Short were both recognized with nominations for the Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy category. Notably, this is Martin’s fourth consecutive year being nominated in this specific category for the series. This nomination brings his total Golden Globes nominations to nine, and if he wins, it would be his first time doing so.
Currently, Gomez has been nominated in two categories for this year’s event. She received a nomination for the Best Actress in a Comedy Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and another one for the Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture, both for the role of Emilia Pérez.
In the fourth season of “Only Murders in the Building,” our three protagonists delve into unraveling the mystery surrounding the death of their cherished friend Sazz Pataki (portrayed by Jane Lynch). This installment also introduces several notable guest actors, such as Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Melissa McCarthy, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Richard Kind, among others.
During a post-season four finale chat with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner John Hoffman shared insights on the selection process for the character to meet their demise in the upcoming fifth season.
He mentioned that numerous aspects contribute to this choice, as it opens up a wealth of possibilities regarding what the season should depict, unexplored parts of New York’s landscape, our trio’s lives, or the history of the building. We haven’t delved into before? He added that there’s a strong connection with someone we know involved in this decision, which, despite its downsides, holds many unforeseen outcomes.
2025’s Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by Nikki Glaser, broadcasting live on CBS and available for streaming on Paramount+, starting January 5th, a Sunday.
As I gear up for this year’s television awards extravaganza, “The Bear” has stolen the spotlight with a whopping five nominations under its belt, closely trailed by “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shogun” each boasting an impressive four nods.
The production company responsible for the Golden Globes, Dick Clark Productions, is actually under the ownership of a partnership named Penske Media Eldridge. This strategic alliance consists of two entities: Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge, and they also control The Hollywood Reporter.
