Titled “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” this Peacock original crime drama recounts the real-life events surrounding a notorious heist that took place during Muhammad Ali’s (Dexter Darden) historic comeback fight in 1970. At an afterparty hosted by a smooth operator known as Chicken Man (Kevin Hart), the night culminates with one of Atlanta’s most audacious burglaries, marking a significant milestone in the city’s criminal history.

In the heart of Atlanta, a grand social gathering hosted by “Chicken Man” was attended by some of the nation’s most affluent individuals. An audacious crime at this event significantly changed Atlanta’s course and eventually morphed the city into what became known as the country’s “Black Mecca.” Following the robbery, suspicion fell on Chicken Man for orchestrating the crime. Determined to prove his innocence, he must convince Detective J.D. Hudson (played by Don Cheadle), one of Atlanta’s pioneering Black detectives in a desegregated police force, that he had no involvement in the theft. The show’s ensemble also features notable performances from Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, Chloe Bailey, Lori Harvey, and Samuel L. Jackson. Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist will be available for streaming starting Sept. 5.

I’m a devoted fan of NBC’s impressive Wednesday lineup, which features the Chicago series. These include Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med. Each show delves into the personal and professional worlds of Chicago’s firefighters, police officers, and medical personnel. From the hustle and bustle of Firehouse 51 to the 21st District precinct and Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, this franchise offers a comprehensive look at various aspects of Chicago’s public services.

Although each show in the Chicago franchise occurs independently, they all connect through a common thread – a small bar named Molly’s. This bar, run by three firefighters, has been a regular haunt for characters from all the shows. Derek Haas and Michael Brandt are the creators of this franchise, which is produced by Wolf Entertainment and has kept audiences engaged for more than ten years. Mark your calendars as the Chicago series will be back on Sept. 26.
