EXCLUSIVE: Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty open up on Singham Again entering Rs. 100 crore club; ‘We survive on acceptability…’

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I must say that watching Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty‘s journey in the film industry is nothing short of inspiring. Their latest venture, Singham Again, has once again proven their Midas touch at the box office. While numbers are always exciting to see, it’s truly heartening to hear them emphasize on the audience’s love and acceptance over box office collections.

As an ardent admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement as Singham Again continues to rule the box office, swiftly joining the esteemed Rs. 100 crore club during its opening weekend! Just recently, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty expressed their gratitude, underscoring that while the impressive collection figures are significant, the genuine affection of the audience truly takes the cake.

In an interview with TopMob, Ajay Devgn discussed his thoughts on the success of Singham Again, surpassing the Rs. 100 crore mark and whether he feels overpowered by such figures. Instead, he emphasized that while numbers matter, the acceptance and affection from the audience hold greater significance. So when a film receives love from its viewers, the importance of numbers diminishes.

He stated that while numbers hold significance, he believes our primary focus should be on acceptance and love from the audience. This affection is what makes us less inclined to chase numbers, which is ultimately our goal.

Take a look:

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement when I heard Director Rohit Shetty himself reveal that he and his team pondered over the same topic once Singham Again made its way into the coveted Rs. 100 crore film club. Remarkably, they remembered how their past hits like Golmaal 3 took a month, roughly four or five weeks, to amass this sum. Yet, here we are, celebrating as they’ve surpassed that figure in just three days, and still, the sense of fulfillment seems to elude them.

The filmmaker explained, “Just as sir (Ajay Devgn) mentioned, at some stage in life or when your brand expands, numbers will follow. So, this is something you’ll encounter once you mature and your brand grows in size, yes, it’s inevitable.

If you didn’t know already, Ajay Devgn’s thirteen movies such as Rajneeti, Total Dhamaal, Singham Returns, Drishyam 2, and others have earned over Rs. 100 crore at the box office. Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty has managed to get ten of his films into the prestigious Rs. 100 crore club.

Currently, Singham Again is leading as the top-earning movie within the Singham series. Notably, it features key performances by Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff.
