As a devoted fan with years of watching Akshay Kumar‘s movies under my belt, I must say his wisdom and resilience never cease to amaze me. With over three decades in the industry, he’s proven time and again that he can take constructive criticism like a true Khiladi.
Akshay Kumar is preparing for the launch of his upcoming comedy movie, Khel Khel Mein. This film, directed and written by Mudassar Aziz, is a remake of the 2016 Italian movie Perfect Strangers. Joining him in the cast are Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. Prior to its release on August 15, the stars participated in an exclusive interview with TopMob. During the conversation, Kumar discussed handling criticisms towards his films.
As an ardent admirer, I’d like to echo his thoughts: The actor wisely pointed out that perspective plays a crucial role in everything, and it’s all about understanding the source from which the opinion is coming. Akshay Kumar, the legendary Bade Miyan Chote Miyan star, delved deeper into this thought, asking us to consider the person’s life experiences and background. He emphasized that there are various forms of criticism, each with its own unique weight and merit.
Expounding more, he clarified, “There are two types of feedback: one is a negative personal attack, where someone lashes out at you personally. The other is constructive criticism, which comes from a sincere desire to help the other person grow. I appreciate the latter kind because I can grasp it easily and use it for my own improvement. I’ve made many changes based on feedback too. When I receive genuine constructive criticism that I can understand and makes sense to me, I embrace it.”

Moving forward within our conversation, Kumar expressed his views about the favorable response to the sequels of popular films. He mentioned that given the audience’s enthusiasm, he’s continuing to produce them.
As a die-hard fan, I’d put it this way: “Regardless of what others may say, I’m committed to exploring and understanding more. Yet, I won’t abandon my quest for diverse cinematic experiences. Occasionally, I believe I must cater to the audience with what I think they crave.”
The seasoned actor explained his approach to selecting films by saying, “At this stage, I am contemplating, ‘What my viewers would appreciate. I will provide it. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t, but that doesn’t discourage me from continuing.'”
In 2025, there are three upcoming franchise movies for Akki, specifically Jolly LLB 3, Welcome 3, and Housefull 5.
