Although members of Anshula Kapoor’s family are deeply involved in the entertainment industry, she has chosen to stay out of the limelight. However, Boney Kapoor’s daughter is generating buzz for her recent appearance on the reality show “The Traitors,” which is hosted by Karan Johar. In an exclusive interview with TopMob, Anshula opened up about various aspects of her life, such as her childhood and her parents’ separation.
Anshula Kapoor says her childhood was ‘not normal’
In conversation about her early years, Anshula admitted that she matured faster than her peers and described her childhood as anything but typical. She explained, “I cherish the memories of my childhood, yet I can’t deny the fact that I had to grow up prematurely compared to my contemporaries and friends, making it an atypical childhood.
In the ’90s and early 2000s, having a single-parent family wasn’t typical, and people didn’t understand what was happening. As others struggled to comprehend the situation, she explained that distance began to grow between her family and others. She said, “During the ’90s and early 2000s, single parent families were not common. People found it hard to grasp the situation, which led them to gradually distancing themselves from my family.

Anshula Kapoor blamed herself for separation of her parents
As a lifestyle expert, I might put it this way: In my personal experience, when I was just six years old, I unknowingly carried the burden of guilt for my parents’ divorce. I remember thinking that before I came into their lives, everything was perfect and harmonious. Then, I unconsciously believed that my arrival somehow dismantled their bond, making me question if I wasn’t good enough as a daughter to keep them together.
Indeed, I found that this notion grew even more profound for me following the arrival of my half-sister, Janhvi Kapoor, into our family.
After the birth of Janu (Janhvi Kapoor), Anshula found herself questioning if there might have been something amiss within her. However, she now realizes that nothing was actually wrong, as both her parents have clarified. Yet, in her childhood, she pondered over what could have gone awry, believing that she may have been the one at fault.
For those unfamiliar, Anshula’s parents, Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie, separated after being married for 13 years. Their divorce occurred when Anshula was only 6 years old. She primarily grew up with her brother, Arjun Kapoor, and her mother, Mona Shourie.
