His career spanning over four decades is nothing short of remarkable, and his latest venture into the psychological thriller genre with “Before” on Apple TV+ serves as a testament to his versatility and enduring talent.
After over four decades in the entertainment industry, Billy Crystal continues to impress with his vigor, and his latest Apple TV+ series “Before” is a testament to this fact. Known primarily for his comedic roles throughout his career, Crystal’s dramatic transformation in the psychological thriller has left audiences in awe, demonstrating that at 76 years old, he still possesses the ability to captivate any scene, regardless of genre.
Commencing on October 25th with episodes one and two, here’s an exclusive sneak peek from episode 3 of Before (shown below). This glimpse offers a hint of what lies ahead as the series approaches its finale on December 20th. The final episode left us with a malfunctioning MRI, a bleeding nose, and Eli causing damage in his apartment. The upcoming episode is set to intensify the tension even further, as both internal and external frustrations continue to escalate.
In the series titled “Before“, crafted by Sarah Thorp, Crystal plays Eli Adler, a child psychologist with a complex past. Following the suicide of his wife, portrayed by Judith Light, he finds himself grappling with grief. He encounters a peculiar mute boy named Noah (Jacobi Jupe), who seems as detached from life as Eli is. However, there appears to be an enigmatic bond between these two characters and Eli’s past. Supporting roles are filled by Rosie Perez and Maria Dizzia. The show masterfully combines elements of drama, suspense, and horror, creating a chilling atmosphere suitable for Halloween viewing.
Before Episode 3, ‘The Liar,’ Promises to Continue the Mystery
In an exclusive clip from “Before” Episode 3, titled “The Liar,” we see Crystal and Jupe appearing together on screen. As the child psychologist attempts to reach his young patient, Noah becomes increasingly troubled. He watches in alarm as Eli repeatedly clicks a pen, which seems to set off something within the boy’s mind, causing him to perceive the ceiling above as freezing over and cracking. In an effort to help Eli express what he is experiencing, the psychologist urges him to draw. However, the situation grows even more ominous as Noah hastily sketches on paper, ultimately revealing a rough drawing of someone being threatened with a knife.
