In an exclusive interview with TopMob, Siddiqui discussed his role in preparing Ranveer Singh for his debut movie, Band Baaja Baaraat. However, he was quick to shy away from taking credit for Ranveer’s acting prowess, asserting that acting is a skill that can never be formally taught.

In 2010, Costao actor reminisced about training Ranveer Singh, not realizing that in just two years, he would become a part of the groundbreaking film, Gangs of Wasseypur. He explained, “I never thought it would be like this. I was more like someone conducting workshops for those who wanted to become actors and get launched. We were all conducting workshops together.
I hadn’t given it much thought beforehand, but I eventually found myself leading workshops. If anyone aspired to act or needed a boost, I became their first choice. Regularly, we would organize workshops involving numerous actors.
When asked if he taught Ranveer Singh his exceptional acting abilities, Nawazuddin replied, “Acting can’t be taught. No one has the recipe for it. You have to discover it within yourself. There was talent within him. I can show you the path, but you have to walk it yourself. However, it’s up to you to find out if you can go further down that path.
Acting isn’t something that can simply be passed on like a recipe. It’s not about finding a magical solution; rather, it’s about unearthing your own innate abilities. He possessed his own unique talent. Certainly, guidance can be provided, showing you the route he took, but ultimately, it’s up to you to tread that path yourself.
