Over the past three months, Salman Khan has been engaged in discussions with various filmmakers regarding his upcoming movie after the Eid 2025 release titled “Sikandar”. His Galaxy Apartments and Panvel farmhouse have seen a flurry of visits from directors hoping to secure Salman’s approval. The directors he met include Ali Abbas Zafar (for two projects), Raaj Shandilyaa (Comedy Director), Siddharth Anand (Action Movie Director for 2026 after “King”), Rajkumar Periasamy (action-thriller director), Anees Bazmee (comedy director), Krish Ahir (Director of “Gangaram”) and Kabir Khan, among others. However, it appears that the army-based action thriller script by Apoorva Lakhia is the one that has won over Salman Khan for his next project.
Based on information from individuals involved in the project, the upcoming collaboration between Salman Khan and Apoorva Lakhia is inspired by the novel India’s Most Fearless 3 and is set against the tense backdrop of the 2020 Galwan Valley Conflict. The filming for this production is scheduled to commence in July 2025, with locations in Ladakh and Mumbai serving as shooting spots over a span of approximately 70 days. In an exciting twist, Salman Khan will be portraying an army officer for the first time in his acting career, alongside three other up-and-coming actors from the younger generation, according to our source.
The information reveals that Apoorva is planning to scout Ladakh within two weeks for an upcoming project, which is currently scheduled to start filming in July 2025. This will mark Salman Khan’s next movie, unless unexpected changes occur in the near future. Salman finds the script exceptional and thinks it has potential to create a memorable cinematic experience. Trusting Apoorva Lakhia for an authentic portrayal of real-life events, Salman is backing this project. The casting process for other significant roles will start soon, according to the source. It’s reported that the film will be shot at actual locations and these settings will also be replicated on a grand scale in a Mumbai studio. Given that it’s a two-night story, a 70-day shoot appears to be feasible.
In simpler terms, instead of making Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, which is something that director Kabir Khan has expressed reluctance towards, he has proposed an original large-scale drama to actor Salman Khan for a potential collaboration after Apoorva Lakhia’s project. If all goes as planned, Salman might take up this new idea following the completion of Apoorva Lakhia’s film, which is set to be shot from July to October. The details are not yet confirmed.
