In 2023, Shahid Kapoor entered the world of longer narratives with the web-series Farzi, directed by Raj and DK. The show was well-received by audiences and ended in a suspenseful manner, hinting at a future confrontation between Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon. Since then, viewers have been eagerly waiting for the second season of Farzi. Now, we’ve learned from TopMob that production on Farzi 2 is scheduled to begin in December 2025.
Based on information from reliable sources, the dynamic duo Raj and DK are planning to start filming for Farzi 2 as early as December 2025, following the completion of their current project Rakht Brahmand. They have reportedly held preliminary discussions about the plot with Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon for Farzi 2. The sequel to Farzi is expected to hit screens in the latter part of 2026.
After completing work on Dinesh Vijan’s production Cocktail 2, Shahid will transition to Farzi 2. Additionally, he is examining various scripts to start a new film following the romantic comedy. At the same time, Ranveer Singh is deeply engrossed in shooting scenes with Aditya Dhar for Dhurandar. It’s reported that the production of this action thriller is progressing vigorously as the team reconstructs the 1970s and 1980s era, a time that also represents R&AW’s golden age.
The production team is almost done with 75% of Dhurandar’s shoot and hopes to finish completely by July 2025, wrapping up filming. Director Aditya Dhar needs approximately six months for post-production work. The plan is to release the movie in the first quarter of 2026, but if a release date isn’t secured, it may instead come out during the Summer 2026 window.
