EXCLUSIVE: Sharvari calls Munjya's success a ‘dream come true'; says when it was being made it was not a film ‘that the whole industry knew about'

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but be swept off my feet by the phenomenal journey of Sharvari Wagh! From her humble beginnings to riding high on the success of Munjya, she has proven that talent truly does shine through.

Sharvari Wagh is basking in the glory of her success after the phenomenal success of the movie Munjya. This movie, which has surpassed the impressive milestone of earning Rs 100 crores, has set the stage for her next venture, Alpha, where she will be working with Alia Bhatt. In an exclusive chat with TopMob, Sharvari looked back on the unexpected triumph of Munjya, a low-budget film showcasing fresh talent. She referred to this success as a ‘dream realized,’ admitting that ‘the movie wasn’t the one everyone in the industry was familiar with.’ When speaking about the movie’s box office performance, she emphasized, “The box office is simply evidence that people went to watch the film and enjoyed it tremendously.

In an interview with TopMob, Sharvari Wagh expressed her deep gratitude. She mentioned that when they were making “Munjya”, it wasn’t a film that the entire industry was already aware of. Nor did she make a big announcement about it. No major events happened for that film. Instead, producer Dinesh Vijan simply believed in the movie and its cast, stating that he would support this project and the talent associated with it.

She mentioned that the success of Munjya felt like a ‘dream come true‘ for her and said, “Everybody was an underdog in that film. I don’t think people knew us at that point. Be it Abhay, be it director, me. I had done one film but my film had not done the biggest numbers so not a lot of people knew me from that. We were all relatively new in that space. So that film to become successful is such a big hope. It’s such a big dream come true for me and for the whole cast and crew of Munjya.”

Sharvari Wagh also emphasized the importance of box office revenues, explaining, “Earnings from the box office matter greatly for an actor like me who’s just starting out. I might not fully grasp the financial aspect, but it’s crucial for my career survival. Essentially, the box office signifies that people chose to watch our film and enjoyed it. Ultimately, this is a business.

She went on to say, “Our purpose is to create movies for people to enjoy and cherish. The ticket sales, or the ‘box office,’ are simply a result of audiences choosing to watch our films. The box office revenue gives me the ability to select and produce the kind of movies I’ve always dreamed of making.

Actress Sharvari Wagh, recognized for her roles in Munjya and Maharaj, is gearing up for her upcoming venture, Alpha. She’s set to star alongside Alia Bhatt in this upcoming film from the YRF Spy Universe. The duo was recently spotted shooting in Kashmir. The movie, directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, also includes Bobby Deol as the villain, with rumors suggesting Anil Kapoor’s involvement too.
