EXCLUSIVE: Sikandar runtime locked; AR Murugadoss confirms Salman Khan starrer is 2 hours 20 minute long

On March 30, 2025, Salman Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and AR Murugadoss will unveil their action-packed movie “Sikandar” on the big screen. The film is now ready for release, with only ten days remaining until it hits theaters. In the coming days, producer Sajid Nadiadwala plans to submit the completed film to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for approval. Before the movie’s premiere on Eid, TopMob had a private chat with director AR Murugadoss.

According to the director, the final version of “Sikandar” has been completed and he provided some details on the duration of the movie starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. He shared that the first half of the film takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, while the second half is roughly 1 hour and 5 minutes long. This means the total runtime is about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Murugadoss clarified the expectations for the upcoming trailer, stating that their primary goal is to captivate the first-day-first-show audience, but they also aim to communicate that Sikandar is not just a mass film. Instead, it’s an entertaining movie with rewatch value, full of emotion, and designed to appeal to various types of audiences, including Salman Khan fans, the general public, the intellectuals, and family viewers.

For those who haven’t heard yet, the trailer for the movie “Sikandar” is set to release either on March 22 or March 23. Alongside this reveal, advance ticket sales will also begin. When questioned about the storyline, he remains tight-lipped. However, with a smile, he hints that it’s a film for all Salman Khan fans, movie enthusiasts, and family audiences alike. In creating “Sikandar”, we aimed to appeal to every type of audience.

AR Murugadoss and Salman Khan have been trying to work together since 2006, when Murugadoss wanted to direct Khan in Ghajini. However, various reasons prevented their collaboration, and they are now set to unite in 2025. In his own words: “I met him before Ghajini, and afterward on multiple occasions with different script ideas. But things didn’t go as planned. Eventually, one day Sajid (Nadiadwala) sir phoned, and this opportunity presented itself.

He ends up saying, “I told the story to Sajid first, and afterward, we visited Salman together. He found it appealing. Initially, we requested his availability in 2025, but given his enthusiasm, he promptly provided us with the dates, moving forward another movie he was scheduled to work on.
