It appears that the long-running animated series “Family Guy,” created by Seth MacFarlane, is seemingly violating a major rule established by its character Stewie Griffin, twenty-five years after its initial airing. Over the past two decades, this show has been one of the most beloved animated productions, frequently causing uproar, but still managing to address sensitive topics.

The TV show, titled “Family Guy,” primarily focuses on the Griffin family: Lois, the diligent mom, Peter, the slightly awkward and clumsy head of the household, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and Brian, who just happens to be a talking canine. After running for many seasons, it’s aiming to release its 23rd season in the Fall of 2024.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2024, the panel revealed some insights about Family Guy Season 23. Notably, they hinted that an episode will feature Lois understanding Stewie for the first time, potentially leading to more turmoil or a heartfelt scene given Stewie’s deep-seated dislike for Lois and his frequent attempts to harm her.

As a seasoned voice actor with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently predict how a conversation between Lois and Stewie might play out based on their unique dynamic.

“By chance, Stewie discovers some marijuana. As a result, they both get high, leading to an unusual moment where Lois can understand Stewie’s conversations.”

As a devoted fan, I’ve often marveled at the intriguing dynamics between Stewie and Lois on Family Guy. It’s quite unusual, with Stewie displaying behaviors more suited for adults, while Lois struggles to grasp her youngest son’s true nature. Given his toddler status, it’s understandable, but their communication seems to be a challenge. However, I’m thrilled that Season 23 promises to bridge this language gap between them!

Stewie Has Been Understood By the Other Griffins

In the animated series Family Guy, it’s interesting to note that while the entire Griffin family can comprehend Brian the family dog, they don’t understand Stewie, who can express himself quite eloquently at times. However, characters like Chris and Cleveland sometimes manage to decipher Stewie’s words. Initially, only Brian was able to understand Stewie due to his canine nature, but as the series progressed, Chris started having conversations with his little brother Stewie.

“Everyone can understand Stewie, but since he is a child, no one takes him seriously.”

The show’s creator claims that while people generally comprehend Stewie, they don’t take him seriously due to his youth. In reality, his conversations with Lois have been straightforward, yet her responses have been rather ambiguous, suggesting she might have caught some of his words but ignored them, treating him as a typical toddler instead.

As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of animated sitcoms, I must say that the upcoming season of Family Guy is poised to shake things up in a refreshing way. It seems like the creators are boldly breaking a major rule by allowing mother and son, Lois and Stewie, to finally understand each other. This change could mark a significant shift in both characters’ development, as Stewie may find himself developing a newfound fondness for his mother rather than his usual plot to eliminate her. I, for one, am excited to see how this new dynamic unfolds and the unique perspectives it brings to the show. After all, I’ve always believed that the best stories come from pushing boundaries and exploring unexpected relationships.

Family Guy’s Season 23 is set to debut on Hulu on October 2, 2024, while Fox will broadcast it starting from October 31, 2024. Notably, a special Halloween episode will be aired on October 14, 2024.
